Up until a couple of years ago we were blind to Alameda's charms. Now we realize that like Holland, a flat place surrounded by water can be heaven. Bring your bike."

"Great property, very comfortable, very clean,,Thoughtfully designed. Cool neighborhood! Wish I got to spend more time here. I was at a conference in downtown Oakland and decided to stay in the sanctuary because hotels were overbooked. Slightly hard/expensive to get an uber in the morning but that’s my fault for not planning ahead. Would recommend!"

"I am not sure if it's the property manager, who did call and apologize the next day, or VRBO processes and management. We were not able to access the property at midnight, having just arrived in Oakland. After repeated attempts to contact the property manager all day for a door code, I finally called VRBO. The property had been rented, possibly under a different company. I am not sure. We were left to find accomodations at 1 AM. The property was right by the family's house we were visiting so...

"Riza and Miguel have created a comfortable and well appointed cottage that has everything you’ll need for a pleasant stay. The entire unit was very clean and has many amenities. Beds were comfortable and there were extra pillows, linen, and towels for the bathroom. Kitchen was well appointed and we cooked several meals during our time there. Television was great and WiFi signal and speed allowed me to work remotely without a hitch. The washer and dryer were easy to access in the main building...

"The studio cottage was perfect for my month visiting UC Berkeley. It was exactly as described, everything was functional and fresh. It was also a great find and luxury to have our own laundry. It is in a quiet area, yet about a 5 minutes walk from Trader Joes and restaurants. Easy to get around by walking, city bike, and bus. Good walking distance to the university also.
