"It was okay for 1 night. I'm a 26 yr old female amd stayed in a mix gender dorm. I never felt unsafe inside the hostel. Its EXTREMELY warm in the common areas and they only have AC in the rooms (thank goodness)
I slept on the bottom bunk and it was very comfortable. The person above was moving but the bunk beds are very solid. I didnt hear any creaking nor feel the movement (which i was anticipating)
I came here for a concert at wrigley field and only chose this place for its location and...
"I just stayed at this hotel with my wife and kid in the lakeview area in Chicago.
Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed with serveral things about our stay.
1. Lack of cleanliness in the room, we found pills, plastic waste from candy bar, old used contact lenses. As we had a toddler running around and investigating every inch of the room, this could have resulted in fatal consequences!
2. It was very noisy! we had some kind of generator outside our windows, which was running all night...
"The stairwell to the second floor is pretty cool with the work from those artist, great location, friendly staff and really though only knock on the hotel is the loud ac units which is fine as long as it keeps me cool."

"Staying at The River Hotel Chicago was a excellent experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and nice with a great view, the location was just in the middle of everything and right a cross the river. There was free coffee on the second floor, and purified water in the hall. "

Right across the river, right next to the Magnificent Mile, a short walk away from Navy Pier, and surrounded by great restaurants and convenient stores.
The pool on the fifth floor is spectacular and offers amazing views of the downtown skyline.
Moreover, the hotel is in a clean and safe part of the city.
Stayed there with two small kids, and had no problem roaming the neighborhood after dark.
