Dirty pool and next to construction site
FUTURE GUESTS BEWARE: 1) Hotel is right next to a large scale construction site which is not mentioned anywhere prior to booking. We booked our room facing the Mediterranean Sea and got assigned a room facing the sea as well as the not so nice construction site. 2) We booked this hotel due to the availability of an outdoor pool. However, the pool area is part of the Nikki Beach concept and hotel guests only have access to a few sunbeds cramped behind the bar. Adding to that, the pool is not cleaned and in the morning we found ourselves swimming with bits of old food from the previous night's party. Staff couldn't care less and excused themselves with "the robot is out of order" and only when speaking to the hotel duty manager, it was possible to clean it.. Too little, too late, and we checked out early. We will find another place to stay next time we're in Monaco.

Good stay
Everything was in perfect order. Only strange thing is that they reserve a deposit on 200 euro pr day you stay on your credit card. I have never experienced something like this before. Other than that, a very nice place.

For your kind information and concerning the deposit asked upon check-in, please kindly note that this procedure is in place in different hotels in Monte Carlo and all around the world. The guaranty asked is not a debit but a pre-authorization on the guest’s credit card which blocked the corresponding amount on the bank account. Thus this blocked amount is not immediately debited but can be either used upon check-out for the bill settlement or released if the guest wishes to pay with a different payment method. Not suited for families
The room seemed old and outdated and did not reflect the prize level. The pool area are not suited for children. However, the hotel has a stunning view and is close to everything.

I have taken notice of your comments and I regret, that the hotel did not meet your further expectations. I regret to read as well that Nikki Beach has impacted negatively your overall stay. I understand you were disappointed with Nikki Beach, and I am sorry you could not fully enjoy our pool facilities. Sunbeds are exclusively reserved for our guests, and are available for free on a first-come, first-served basis. We continuously work to improve our product & communication, and constantly willing to offer the best service at all times. While the hotel’s location can’t afford to have a direct beach access, we do partner with three private beaches in Monte-Carlo where our guests enjoy private shuttles service, Fairmont branded amenities and charge to room possibilities. I am sorry this was not explained to you and wish to apologize for that communication shortfall. We also thank you for your feedback regarding our rooms, and this has been taken into account when and if we will proceed with a refurbishment. I have as well taken notes on your comment and wish to mention that the hotel went through a major renovation from 2005 to 2009, including all sea side facade rooms, public places and restaurants. Our last renovation was the Nobu Restaurant in 2014, along with some banqueting function room you may not have used during this stay. We had a great stay at the hotel, shout out to the fantastic concierge team who helped us many times; specifically with a wonderful recommendation for a day trip to Italy. The only downside right now is all the construction going on outside the hotel. It’s noisy and a bit disruptive, it spoiled the view from the balcony. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

Fairmont is a fantastic hotel in the heart of Monte Carlo, Monaco. I take my family every year in January for the Monte Carlo Circus Festival and the Fairmont is a must with such an amazing view and fantastic room with room service and everything is walkable distance.

I stayed in the Fairmont Monte-Carlo for the first time to celebrate my birthday and at the moment I got out of my car, the service was impeccable. Great attention to details and assertive communication from hotel's staff. Room was very spacious and bed was super comfy. Bathroom was clean and amenities were excellent. Room service was attentive and quick, food was delicious! Breakfast time was also great and the options were diverse, for all palates. I'll definitely be back!

my room was a construction-view room
My room faced a construction site. I sensed that big investment projects were still on-going in Monaco. Their restaurant served nice foods for my dinner and breakfast. The bar was excellent. Thier glass for dry martini was huge enough to have good sleep. We got a sunrise during taking breakfast. I think that it added some value to stay in this hotel.
