"Very friendly and helpful front desk. The tatami room was very clean as was the bathroom and private onsen on the terrace. Both the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast were excellent with seamless service. A very nice stay at an excellent hotel in an out of the way village."

This place has aged well, rooms are spacious, there is a private onsen on the top floor for 40min usage, and there are a couple of great restaurants 10mins walking distance around. Lawson out the front. Staff were excellent. Only stayed 1 night but would go back. Great if you have a car."

"This is a very well maintained traditional hot spring inn. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The baths were wonderful after a long day of sightseeing. We opted for the breakfast which was excellent. Highly recommend if you want a taste of traditional Japan. Matsumoto castle was beautiful and we happened to hit a day when there was a local beer festival."

"Great spot away from the busy Tokyo area. The rooms and the hotel is special in its own way and has a lot of character. Felt like being in my grandparents home. Really enjoyed staying here and it made it incredibly easy to walk to and from the train station to get bus tickets. Would definitely tell friends to stay here in the future. "
