I’ve always been a fan of the Fontainebleau and even worked there years ago, so I was really looking forward to this stay. Unfortunately, the experience felt more like staying at a budget hotel than the luxury experience you expect from Fontainebleau.
The issues started at check-in, where there was only one employee handling a very long line. Once we finally got to our room, we requested extra sheets, but they never arrived. We called again a few minutes later and couldn’t get an answer from anyone — not even the front desk.
We also tried ordering room service, only to find out it wasn’t available. The elevators were another major issue; we waited over 15–20 minutes multiple times because they were completely packed.
Checkout was probably the most frustrating part. There was clearly a lack of communication with bell services, and I ended up having to leave my belongings in the room and walk down the emergency stairs with my children just to request help getting our luggage. I even sent photos to the host showing us coming down the stairs.
Overall, the experience was disappointing and far below expectations for what we paid. Sadly, this stay did not reflect the level of service and hospitality the Fontainebleau is known for.
