Homey and inexpensive
We had a great stay at Riad 34. It is very good value and we were surprised at how much we got for our money. The room we had was spaceous and had aircondition (some of the rooms do not have aircon but I think these are cheaper as well). The bathroom and sleeping area are not really separate - there is a wall but it does not go all the way to the ceiling and there is no door. This was no problem for us but I guess you have to be quite comfortable with the one you are traveling with.
The Riad is small (5 rooms) and really cosy. The staff is very friendly and they were very helpful with excursions. Breakfast was served in the central courtyard and was the same every day - good coffee, pancakes, bread, jam and butter.
The location is great. The Bahia Palace is very close by as well as many of the other attractions in the Medina. The central square, Jeema El Fna, is just a short walk (perhaps 10 mins) from the Riad. This is perfect as you can easily get there while being far enough away from the hazzle to enjoy some peace and quite when you return to the riad at night.
Be aware that there is a "tax" at the end of your stay (around 30 Dirhams per night) which you will have to pay before leaving.
I can very much recommend Riad 34 and I would love to stay there again.
