Some of the staff were friendly, beautiful hotel inside and out! The spa and pool area is lovely and very clean. The bedroom was ok, but for a 5 star hotel, I have seen better. The decor did not blow us away and the bed was like a board. I barely slept and could hardly walk the next day. I did mention the bed to the receptionist when I checked out and his reply was "thank you for letting us know". No idea what this means or what I expected... One thing I will say is that the breakfast was delicious! Try to go when it's quiet as it gets very busy and it's quite cramped. The amount of times I was stood with for food with my plate as things were running out / missing. I felt like a nuisance to be honest as the lady I was asking was not the warmest. Would I rush back? No Would I return? Maybe...

I had high expectations before attending this hotel due to the reviews on google and expedia. I paid £200 per night due to last minute booking. For a £200 a night hotel it was actually giving £80 a night service. Check in was easy. The rooms are average. I was in room 703 and the carpet was peeling off( see photo). Bed nice and comfy and bathroom came with a bath tub and shower which was really good. However, at check-in I was asked if I wanted breakfast to be added to the booking, which was £21.50 but £29 if I decided to add it at a later stage. Choose to add it to the booking but when going down for breakfast, you have to wait for a table to have breakfast. I waited almost 30 mins for a table to become available. Bearing in mind if you have a train or flight to catch this can cause delays. It seems like they over advertise on breakfast but don't even have the space or facilities to host all guest. In addition, room service is not the best. Food is average and they also charge a tray charge on top of service charge. All fine by me but I insisted having a receipt to confirm my order before paying and the gentleman insisted I paid first before having a receipt???? Weird vibes to me but I was not happy with this concept and ruined my experience. If your looking for 5* your better off going to the stock exchange hotel, Dakota or Lowry. Also the complimentary access to the spa is not really complimentary as you have to pre book an hour slot in advance and if you don’t you lose

Overall a good hotel. Good location from which to explore Manchester. I was disappointed with the check-in experience and believe staff training could rectify that problem. The room included everything that was needed however decor could be improved.

The hotel was lovely and the staff that checked us in was great . The only issues we had was I booked 3 rooms which stated double or 2 singles , I requested for twin beds. When one of the room arrived they were given a double which we thought ok that’s fine , not the end of the world , so I rang in the morning to make sure the next two rooms will be twins , I was told there was only one twin room available , which we accepted and just put up with the other as a double . But when we arrived both rooms were doubles and to make it worst when we went to check in for the last room it was not ready on time and instead we had to have an accessible room which we had to accept as we were going somewhere and had to get ready . Apart from this the rooms and amenities were actually perfect .

Lovely hotel (some guests a little less lovely!)
Fantastic room, friendly reception staff. Had a lovely massage in the spa - top tip though, get into the spa early, at around 3pm it was lovely and quiet but by 5pm it was very noisy in there with quite a lot of people being quite inconsiderate and loud. We had lunch in the champagne bar - bit of a limited menu, but nice enough. We went to a show so were back too late for dinner in the restaurant, but ordered room service pizza which came promptly and was really nice. Overall, a very good experience in a hotel I'd recommend.
