We planned our stay and paid for The Manor House. This was to be an emotional return to the place where our children were born some 50 years ago. We knew it had been converted to a hotel from the Lydia Beynon Maternity Hospital and wanted to see the difference and if any of the original decor was visible. When we arrived, we were told that we could not stay in the Manor House and that we had been transferred to the Celtic Manor Resort. Very, very disappointed as this was not the purpose of our visit. We were told that there was no compensation or refund. It was too late to find an alternative hotel and we had paid up front for our stay. So, we will not recommend booking the Manor House nor its parent company that let us down.
