In the 18thC, Bwchanan was the seat of John Bulkeley, the chief agent of the Bulkeleys of Baron Hill, Beaumaris. His wife, Bridget, was a sister to two Viscounts. William Bulkeley, the squire and diarist of Brynddu, was involved in a dispute with the Bulkeleys of Bwchanan in the 1730s, over seats at Llanfachell church, each side more than once throwing the seats of the other out of the door.

Vi havde to overnatninger i forbindelse med en roadtrip i Wales. Hotellet ligger godt og der er gode parkeringsforhold. Der var rent og pænt, men betjeningen var upersonlig og ligegyldig. Rigtig god morgenmad, Ældre byggeri. Rummeligt værelse med behagelig seng at sove i. Rent badeværelse. Det var dog længe siden, at nogen havde støvsuget gulvtæppet omkring sengen. Lidt støj fra gangen og elevatoren.

Close to the sea/beach. One hears the waves from the hotel room windows. Excellent in house restaurants, friendliest staff and wonderfully located close to Holyhead ferry port and UK customs (relevant for my stay)
