Located in the desirable Gilded Mountain Community near Deadwood, South Dakota, this 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath cabin offers the perfect space for families of all sizes to enjoy the outdoors. The covered deck wraps around 2 sides of the cabin, offering breathtaking views of the Black Hills, complete with a BBQ grill, and round hot tub. It’s the ideal spot to relax, entertain while enjoying the views, or sit and enjoy your morning cup of coffee!

Main Level Highlights
Open Concept Living Space: The main level has an open concept dining-kitchen area with seating for 8 at the dining table and 4 at the kitchen island, as well as a fully equipped kitchen. The living room has a gas fireplace, and a large wall of windows looking out into the beautiful National Forest.
Outdoor Living Space: If you are ready to take in the breathtaking mountain views, you can access the deck from the front door, or the sliding glass doors in the kitchen. On the deck there is a gas grill, a round hot tub, and a picnic table to sit at and enjoy the outdoors.

What a beautiful place to stay. We stayed in the cabin with family and made memories to last a lifetime. The property went above and beyond what we anticipated and we cannot wait to come back. We appreciated the grill and the hot tub as well as the fun outdoor spaces while the kids played on the woods. 5 star!

We had a great time at this cabin. It had everything you needed for a week stay. Club house was a great addition for the family. Perfect location to travel to national landmarks. Highly recommend this location.

This property was amazing and the kids loved the lodge. Had a great time playing games and swimming. We had Christmas visitors which included around 10 deer and a very nice mature buck! Highly recommend this property!

We really enjoyed our stay at Franklin's Tower. The house was inviting and comfortable and since we had families at the cabin next door, we enjoyed the easy back and forth between cabins. We could tell that the cabin hadn't been used in a while as there were dead flies in the bedrooms and living room that we needed to vacuum. Also, the house had a strange smell to it - maybe mothballs?

The property is in a wonderful location, very beautiful! The house was perfect for our family of 8. I would only note that some areas could have been cleaned better, especially the floors. Great place!

Did not realize when you book the location desired that there would be multiple identities charging you for your stay you get one email telling you the amount and then you get charged a whole different amount which of course is a lot higher

Great place, clean. Driveway is pretty steep. Beds could be upgraded, squeezed and roll to the center. Also could use room darkening shades in the bedrooms. Wildlife right outside out window. Turkeys and deer.

Beautiful, clean cabin just south of Lead. A great location for both snowmobiling and ATVing. Highly recommend. The only drawback is that the driveway is too steep with too big of a dip to back in a 4 place trailer. We had to park the trailer at Recreational Springs, which is only a couple miles down the road so not a big deal.

We enjoyed our time at Franklin’s tower, but want to be full disclosure, to hopefully provide improved experience for your future customers. The amount of snow was very helpful in having a good experience, as it allowed for plenty of time spent outside sledding with our kids. Prior to arriving, we were told there was a blender on site (key for a couple peoples’ breakfast needs). Upon arrival, when noticing there wasn’t a blender and that were multiple lamps with either no light bulbs or burnt out bulbs (considering the limited lighting, all bulbs are needed), we inquired. We were told that a blender and extra bulbs would be delivered the next day, but never showed. Additionally, I would recommend two things for communication with future prospective renters. 1) I don’t recall seeing much of anything in the VRBO listing about being able to access a community lodge with a heated pool. It’s a great asset and should be advertised. 2) As steep as the driveway and access roads are, it’s only fair to let prospective renters know that 4x4 is recommended for accessing, during winter conditions. Fortunately, we came prepared, because we’re pretty familiar with the region, but others may not be as fortunate. We spent a lot of time on the main level living area and would have really appreciated having a TV in that main level living space. I’d recommend cleaning the ceiling fan in the main living space. We certainly enjoyed our time, but have received equal or better value/service for less, in the recent past, in the Terry Peak area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Franklin Tower property. We felt it was adequately supplied with what we needed to cook and stay there for the week. The entire house was very clean and well put together with fun decor. The hot tub was also very clean and easy to use. There was plenty of space for a large family or a couple of families to enjoy the property. Great views out the giant windows in the common space area. My only complaint is that the house number was hard to find, especially coming in after dark. I think putting them on the other side of the porch pillar would have been easier to find.

The Good The bad and The ugly. Good great place to stay well built facility very nicely stocked with amenities. Very nice to have the washer dryer and hot tub. Close to everything you can imagine you'd want to do. Great water pressure great hot water temperature. The bad the beds were very uncomfortable, the pillows were very flat, a number of light bulbs burned out, the weeds growing up in front of the steps and the downstairs door were very out of control. The ugly underneath the sofas, the carpets, and windows were very dirty and dusty, I tried to run the vacuum to clean some stuff up but the vacuum pumped more dust then it sucked up. A lot of the dishes were dirty required a good washing before use. The whole house could use a good deep cleaning.

Cabin was very clean and fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Check in and out was simple. Location was a simple drive to all of the touristy locations without being in the heart of a super busy town. Prairie grasses could stand to be cleaned up a little around the cabin, especially near the stairs. Also the cabin is a little hard to regulate a good temperature for those staying in the upper floor vs. those staying in the basement, but overall we would love to stay here again in the future.

This house is perfect for two families. Plenty of kitchen items and great having a private hot tub. Only house suggestions would be more bath towels and curtains on the windows in the loft area. Great location for Deadwood, Lead, Spearfish Canyon. About a 1.5 hour drive to Mt. Rushmore and other attractions. We enjoyed our stay!
