Great hotel! We will definitely come back
We were in Thailand for 4 weeks, and we spent one week at Anantara. The service here is just great! We kept competing the other 3 hotels we stayed with the Anantara and we regretted not staying there longer. No request was too much, the staff was amazing, and the food was tasty. It is pricey to eat there, but there is plenty of other restaurants around. We were traveling with 2 small kids, and the kids club was awesome

Dejligt sted
Havde kun en enkelt overnatning men supergod service og flotte forhold. Eneste minus var hungrende folk der lagde badehåndklæde ved poolen tidligt for at få en plads og smuttede så til morgenmad osv. Men det har jo ikke noget med hotellet at gøre.

Anantara needs an A-Z renovation before being 5*
We've always wanted to stay at one of the Anantaras so we decided that this time should be it. As we only stay in 5 star hotels our expectations are naturally high. And I have to say that I am a detail freak. Most hotels aren't really 5 star in my opinion even though they are rated as one. I have no idea how Anantara got the membership of SLH - it seems like SLH gives it once and then never come back to check the conditions. We've seen this before in SLH hotels. The room we got was so tired and had a bad smell. We complained and were told that it was because they hadn't had the aroma oilburner lighted in the room (which they actually did). The bathtub had a lot of mold spots. This we also complained about and the manager was very nice about it (she knew about the problem) and said she would have it fixed. We know the humidity in Asia makes it easy for mold to grow in bathrooms but when you go to a 5 star hotel this shouldn't even be an issue. At last the room was extremely small and had an old decor. We finally got an upgrade to a suite and even though this was also old and tired it was a lot better that the shoebox we first were put in. When it comes to the italian restaurant at Anantara it was voted the best in Samui. However the service wasn't consistent. As an example we were offered mosquito spray the first night and the rest of the nights we weren't. But I have to say the staff does an amazing job in the restaurant. They made us feel special and they remembered our names. Foodwise the Zazen hotel makes a better gourmet dinner and has a more romantic ambience. The breakfast was a marathon every morning. It took a minimum of 15 minutes to get your order and there wasn't enough tables for the guests. Almost anywhere else you a provided with free WiFi but at the Anantara you have to pay for it in your room or go to the library with a code provided from the reception to use the computers for only 30 minutes. I have to say that it is the cheapest we've ever experienced. It costs almost nothing to have a good WiFi connection today and as more and more people a traveling on their own today this should be complimentary. We didn't have a problem with the staff at the hotel but the service is very standardised - almost like a big city business hotel - and that's probably due to the many guests they have. But it isn't for us.

Excellent location, nice garden and pool area and impeccable service. However, way too crowded for the size of the property, which really weighed on our experience. Room needs to be refurbished.

Magnifique hôtel. Accueil chaleureux dès la sortie de la voiture par Sandy qui s'est occupée de nous jusqu'à la fin du séjour. Elle nous a donné ses coordonnées whatsapp si jamais nous avions le moindre problème. Grâce au statut VIP Expedia Gold nous avons eu la chance d'être surclassé en suite junior Garden View. L'architecture et les jardins sont grandioses. L'établissement est en front de plage avec suffisamment d'équipement pour tout le monde. Nous avons été invités par l'équipe de management pour un cocktail d'accueil. Le personnel est au petit soin à tous les niveaux. Du service au bar jusqu'au garçon de plage. Le petit déjeuner est l'un des meilleurs que j'ai pu avoir en Thaïlande au niveau diversité et qualité. Notre avion retour étant tardif, l’hôtel nous a offert la possibilité de faire un late check-out à 14h. Au total je suis ravi de mon expérience dans cet hôtel. Mon seul regret est finalement que de n'y être resté que 2 nuits. Hâte d'y retourner.

Bophut beach is a really nice stretch, which usually doesn't have a lot of tourists, except for fisherman's village. The Anantara is well located right next to the Fishing market in Bophut. The hotel is quite old fashion, the rooms could be updated a bit. The pool if ugly. The gardens are beautiful with the giant nenuphars. The breakfast buffet was great and the pool restaurant good. I asked the hotel to fetch me 200m away and they wouldn t. That was a big disappointment as other least expensive hotels offer such service

Picturesque hotel…
The hotel is so beautiful like a picture, luscious green and great design of the structure. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Location was great with a lots of services near by. We were slightly disappointed with the cleaning of our room and the space in the bathroom. Beach area was small and not so clean. Also for us as a couple it was not a quiet surrounding as there were too many children screaming.

Almost like paradise
The hotel is absolutely beautiful, but the regular deluxe room is very disappointing. It was supposed to have garden view with balcony, but all you see is a dirty rooftop. We paid extra to get upgraded to a suite, now that room is luxury! The breakfast is amazing! The dinner in the restaurant is not worthed, much better and cheaper options in the Fisherman village. The pool and beach is wonderful, but there aren't enough sunbeds on the beach. 9am all sunbeds been "reserved" with guests leaving their towels.

My son forgot 2 shirts in the closet after receiving them from laundry. He went back to the hotel and we called them. But the shirts disappeared from the room. Totally unacceptable.

A little pocket of paradise.
Awesome infinity pool & on the beach. Great location just a few minutes walk to Fisherman’s Village which is full of restaurants, shops, bars & great massage places. Staff were attentive & always greeted you with a smile. Breakfast was great too.

I have stayed at many 5 star hotels but the room style and size does not live up to that level - only a transparent glass door between shower and toilet and views of many of the rooms are poor unless you pay a steep price. We paid over £200 a night and had a dark room with no light, even after changing, it wasn’t much better. First and last time at an Anatara - Shangri La and Kempinski in my view are so much better.

However we also offer units which are much larger such as the spacious Garden View Suite (64SQM) and Anantara Beachfront Pool Suite (80SQM). Fantastic hotel! Room: Junior Garden Suite, was nice and spacious, and very clean. The hotel service was impressive, staff were pleasant and remembered my name, and very accommodating. Would recommend use of the spa, it’s beautiful, and a hidden gem.

Wonderful Hotel. Superb service, amazing breakfast and facilities, but most of all fantastic staff. Location is fantastic too with Fisherman’s village a 2 minute stroll away down the beach. Only slight negative is the €8 price tag for a litre of Evian by the pool :) but don’t let that put you off

We went here to celebrate our daughter's first birthday. And the property is very nice. Although we started off on a back foot, as the evening we landed we ordered dinner from room service but did not receive anything. We waited an hour and called the reception, who had no clue about it either. In the end we cancelled it and went to sleep without dinner. Although the manager and the staff were extremely apologetic about it and more than made up for it in the coming days by giving us an upgrade to a better room. The property is smack on the beach and 5 mins walk from the fisherman's village eateries/pubs/bars and night market twice a week. We really liked that part. However the sand on the beach is coarse and the water not so clear for swimming/snorkelling. The property is well maintained and the staff is extremely friendly and hands on. It is a very good property to travel with kids as it has a kids area and pool.

What a great week!! Juliane and her staff were absolutely amazing, most especially in accommodating all the needs of our ageing Mum. Nothing was too much to ask. If you are divers there is a dive firm operating right next door and pick ups are from the beach. A 10 minute walk and you are in Fisherman’s Village with loads of great food and fun shopping. Highly recommend this property.

We felt so welcomed the moment we stepped onto Anantara Bophut resort, with special shout out to Ten and Tak who expressed a high level of hospitality and professionalism throughout our stay. Staff at the resort was also always very smiley and made our stay overall pleasant and very comfortable. Junior suite room was superb and well equipped with modern amenities and comfortable bed. Only small downside, the pool being too overcrowded on daily basis and guests end up having to "reserve" the lounge chairs with towels early in the morning or they might end up having no seats.

Gorgeous property and the staff were lovely. Room compact and served it’s purpose, it was clean and tidy.

Great stay as always. It was special for us as we stayed there 12 years ago on honeymoon and multiple times after, and now with our son. Service standard and property remained the same throughout the decades. Wonderful as always.

Location was right on Bhoput beach and 2 mins walk to the Fisherman's market where you can find all convenience stores, restaurants and market stalls. Staff are warm and welcoming.

Amazing family hotel. The staff were so friendly and made our stay with our 10month old daughter a breeze. The kids club is outstanding, clean and the staff played so well with our daughter. 5mins walk along the beach to fisherman’s village. We will certainly be returning very soon.
