"We were a party of 10, getting together to celebrate the 60th birthday party of 2 family members. The house was beautiful, plenty of room for everyone, although to be honest we spend most of our time in the cosy but large kitchen and adjacent games room. Many period features allowed you to really experience how they used to love. Kirby Stephen high street was a stones throw away, making it convenient for local shops and pubs. Would highly recommend for a large family get together"

"We all had the most wonderful New Year stay at Curlew Lodge, it was spotless with some lovely personal touches such as fresh bread, eggs, butter & a chocolate cake that was delicious! The garden & views were lovely. The weather was terrible for most of our stay so didn’t manage to explore as much as we’d have have liked. "The lodge is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need. The area is lovely and close to Kendal (about 16 miles). The inside of the lodge is decorated lovely and well laid out, and the beds were super comfy. The hot tub is under a covered deck area so could be used while raining which was a huge plus. The property is pet friendly but if you have dogs like ours that tend to wander off then it is worth noting that there are no areas fenced off. For us this was not ideal. The only other...
