Reviewer Comments:
We have been to Kauai 5 times before, and also stayed at Pono Kai before, so we have some experience of the resort and of Kapa'a itself. Pono Kai is well situated, and is a resort with a lot for visitors to do - as such we had a good time staying there. However, although Pono Kai is an old development, and does need some tlc, this property has been recently renovated and some new furniture bought, so we were looking forward to the stay. Unfortunately the quality of the furniture was not good enough for the high rental we paid, and the bed/mattress/pillows were the worst we have had in any condo. Other areas that needed improvement were: a) Provision of glasses - there were only pint and wine glasses provided - nothing in between. b) Beach chairs were rusty and broken - we bought new ones from Home Depot!c) There was no outdoor furniture for eating outside on the balcony. The good news is that none of this spoiled our vacation -we have learned to adapt to these kind od problems, and the staff at Hawaii Life, and their contractors were very helpful in attending to the problems that came up.
