"We loved this hotel, and had a great 4 day stay in Kyoto. Very upscale and peaceful, in a quiet, non-touristy neighbourhood, with lots of convenient travel options. And we ended up in nearby underground jazz bar Zac Baran twice, as well as a tiny local restaurant about 15 minutes walk west, same side of street as hotel, called kawahigashi (it also says 'food and beverage' in English outside). We were the only people on a weeknight, with a single chef/server doing everything, and the food was...

"Nice hotel with good WiFi and free coffee. The rooms are small/cramped, but I think that’s just what you tend to get in Kyoto from what I’ve heard. The location is hard to beat, there’s probably 100 restaurants (not an exaggeration) within a 5 minute walk and the train stations are an easy walk. "

"This is our second time staying at this place and we just love how it’s in the center of Gion district surrounded with the best food spots. We also love how close it is to shopping, nishiki market, karaoke, all the fun stuff!! The space itself is huge and the onsen is just the cherry on top after a LOOONG day of walking/exploring. It’s < 20 mins away from Kyoto station as well."
