Best hotel in Jacmel
Cyvadier is without a doubt the place in Jacmel with the best service in the most beautiful settings. The owner and the staff is genuinely nice, with a very welcoming and positive attitude and extremely service-minded. We will definitely be back!

You cannot have a hotel and you have no backup generator you're dying and close early there's no way for food you cannot have a hotel when you have just the door to come in one window which is located in the bathroom no other windows to let air in.

Hello Mr. Lormandy, this is Christophe Lang the owner of Hotel Cyvadier Plage. I would like to start a conversation with you about your subpar experience during your two night stay with us. Unfortunately my staff has not made me aware about your grievances expressed. I have to point out that despite Haiti's ongoing crisis all advertised services remained open as per regular schedule. Our Restaurant opens at 6:30am until 10am for the complementary breakfast included with your room. And opens for Restaurant Service from 11am-21:30pm. During after our our front desk staff provides bottled beverages service if requested. The Hotel operates by rotating 3 generating sets for power. Please note that of the of the energy provided daily 18 hours(per day) are produced by these generators. I wish that we would have been informed about you dissatisfaction with the room you where in which was reserved for the ocean view. Room changes are typically possible if requested. All of our team work very hard for our guest in sometimes challenging conditions, I hope you'll give Hotel Cyvadier and Haiti another chance.

Beautiful property with an amazing view
The property itself has amazing views of the ocean. Depending on your room location, you can in fact lull yourself to sleep listening to the ocean waves. A beautiful thing! The restaurant has some of the best food I've experienced & I travel frequently so that's saying a lot. Kudos to the chef here, especially the lobster! Delicious! The property, rooms, social areas/common areas, restaurant are all very clean & neat. Housekeeping staff are also very kind & welcoming. If you are a solo female traveler, book the Queen room or a suite as it's on the second floor so there's a sense of safety. I don't stay in first floor rooms anywhere I'm traveling solo simply because of that sense of safety on an upper floor as opposed to first floor. Having said that, the property is very safe. There was a bit of a miscommunication about this (being a solo female traveler & being on the first floor. It *is* what I booked not realizing the room was on the first floor & when I expressed my concern, it wasn't understood that that was my concern when I asked for a second floor room). The front desk associate simply thought I didn't like the initial room, not the case. We got it all worked out & all was well! Definitely give this property a stay. Well worth it! Haiti is magnificent! And Jacmel is a gem!

If you are looking for paradise on earth you don't have to look far . This place is private and it will grow on you without noticing . The staff is extremely friendly and the view is amazing .....

Wonderful
It was a very nice and clean property. The property is a 10-15 minute drive to the center of Jacmel. The ocean view was beautiful from the property. Perfect for a sunset romantic dinner. However, you can’t go in the water. It’s just too choppy and unsafe. Another down side, none of the rooms had televisions. My husband was looking forward to watching the NBA games and was highly upset to discover there was no television in the room. They do offer a television near the bar area. The food was over priced but delicious. I had the lobster which was to die for. The staff was polite and professional. Felt the bar lady was being over worked. She served as a bartender, waitress and she was cleaning the common areas. They should get more staff to assist. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Great for the Province
Great for a province location in the country side. Random routine power outages and a whole day with no WiFi. Overal I enjoyed my stay but prepare for these. No tv in rooms my guy was not pleased 😂 couldn’t watch the games.

Hi Claudyne, thank you for your visit and your valuable feedback. You guy should have been able to follow the game in our bar which features a 50" cable tv. :) Unfortunately the whole Jacmel area has been under blight of both power and internet issues. The provide a little context: the Hotel routinely provides power by means of our own powerplant as displayed at the front desk 4pm-9am then 12-2:30. this should be un-interrupted, however if utility provides electricity within these hours we use it because it is more sustainable both ecologically and economically. Utility-power however is marred by random interruptions at time contributing to your impression of random routine power outages. We are sorry about reduced impression comfort you might experience as a consequence of this. Our high speed internet company too, has not been able to fulfill it contractual obligations this last month all over Haiti, alas this service is monopoly in the Jacmel area. That being said I hope you'll give Jacmel Haiti and Hotel Cyvadier another chance in the future. Sincerely Yours, Christophe Lang

Excellent stay!
The stay was very relaxing and excellent. The staff wal very friendly and helpful. During a rain storm, my room had a small leak in the ceiling, and the staff helped me move to an upgraded room. The views and grounds are beautiful and the food was excellent at breakfast and at other meals tat we purchased. The location is near to the public beach up the road where you can buy an excellent fresh fish lunch, and within easy range of Lakou New York in Jacmel - entertainment, shopping, and food.

I definitely recommend The Cyvadier. The staff is nice, the rooms are good but I could have use newer tools. The restaurant is beyond amazing and the view breathtaking. I would go back.

The staff and property were lovely, helpful, and talented in the kitchen/bar. The massage service was a great option offered, and the scenery was amazing. My room was very close to reception, and so I heard everything all the time. I didn't like the time of the day that was selected to turn off electricity, which was in the morning. Overall, I had a wonderful time and would return in the future.

Very private. Only 28 rooms. If your way of relaxing is tranquil, peace and quiet and attentive service, this is the place for you. If you like lots of activities, lots of people in a loud bar and around the pool you should look for something else. we loved it :)

You'll think you're in paradise when you step behind the recepion desk. It quiet, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful. There is an amazing ambience created by your gorgeous surroundings, the sound of the ocean waves crashing, friendly staff members, the fragrance of delicious food from the open restaurant, and the many cabana offering comfortable outdoor furniture for relaxing or playing games.

Suite au décès de ma grand-mère, Je n’ai pu me rendre à l’hôtel Cyvadier. Je suis énormément déçue du service après-vente car même en expliquant ma situation au responsable de l’établissement celui-ci n’a pas jugé bon de me rembourser les chambres ou même à la rigueur de proposer un arrangement. Au départ je tenais vraiment à visiter cet établissement et ses environs mais après cet épisode j’estime qu’il n’y a plus du tout de côté « humain » et que cet endroit est là uniquement pour le business. On oublie que c’est la culture et la découverte en d’Haïti qu’il faut d’abord mettre en avant. En d’autres termes je déconseille fortement ce lieu car un événement tragique peut arriver à n’importe quel moment et à n’importe qui surtout n'oublions pas que nous sommes tous humains.

Bonjour Madame, Recevez d’abord mes Sincère sympathies pour votre perte et Mes Excuses. Je suis désolé de l’impression négative que vous avez eu de nos services suite à votre urgence familial. Je dois malheureusement admettre que vue la présence d’un intermédiaire il peut parfois être difficile de transmettre votre requête vers nous ou les valeurs d’une entreprise. Je veux tout de même vous offrir en récupération si Vous le désirez encore, de créditer le montant verser par Expedia sur une prochaine réservation. Offre valable jusqu’au 30 Septembre 2019. Et j’aimerais profiter de fournir une petite explication : Quand l’agent de Hotel.com m’as contacté la semaine suivante le « no show » sur votre réservation, j’ai vue qu’il s’agissait d’une réservation de 1 chambre, du me referrer aux conditions standards de cancelation contracter avec Expedia. Cancelation Gratuite jusqu’à 24H avant le check in prévu et 1 Nuit de « no show » moins de 24H avant le check in prévu. Le début de septembre était une date haute circulation pour L’Hotel et pour garantir nos obligations contractuelles la chambres est resté vacante. Je regrette que l’intermédiaire n’ait pas su nous transmettre votre souhait de simplement recevoir un crédit sur votre très prochaine visite. Il est pour ma petite administration des fois difficile de revenir sur des charges conformes traiter des semaines avant. Worst hotel ever, whatever pictures they showed was not the same, beach front, not! Our room has mold, bugs, no AC. The breakfast was blaaaah, lunch was worst. I would never recomand this to any human being. Live to learn not even 1 star.

We only stayed for an evening, but had a positive experience. The room was clean, food wasn't overpriced, staff were very friendly and accomodating. Very relaxed atmosphere. Also, highly recommend sunset yoga every friday and saturday!

It was a lovely hotel, and the staff was really nice. The pool was clean and the beach was beautiful. It was my wife's first time in Haiti, and she had so much fun that she wants to go back next year.

A pretty good experience
It's a pretty good experience. The rooms are OK, the staff smiling and efficient. The sea is pretty wild there, so do not go for the beach. If you want to fall asleep with the sound of the waves … this place is all you need. One downside during my stay, the minimalistic breakfast. Though, tums up for the chef, the omelet was very well prepared.

Beautiful hotel outside of Jacmel - the grounds were gorgeous and the staff was wonderful. Only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed more!

Poor staff, poor communication, good food!
The staff at this hotel were ridiculous! The two different reception staff we met both had an air of arrogance and we're just not helpful at all. Particularly the guy when checking in. Check in was atrocious. We were put in a room with no hot water, no Internet access, and only to find also that the electricity we goes off at 9am every day (but we were not told about it when checking in) After a couple of complaints on the first night, the Internet was sorted.... After numerous complaints leading into the 2nd day and lots of denial about the water situation, we were moved to a complimentary room (still with water issues). After complaining about the electricity we were told that Expedia should have informed us about it and that if we booked through them, we would have been told of the lack of electricity from 9am. However, a quick look on their website shows that they claim to have electricity 24hrs a day. Clearly false advertising. When checking out we were told that on the night before we might have been given more change than we deserved at the bar...ridiculously false claim which I challenged. And then after we left I got a call asking if we had taken one of their towels... Yet another false claim. It might sound very exaggerated but this is an honest depiction of our experience. To guests considering staying there, I'll say stay somewhere else but do go to the hotel for their drinks and for their reasonably priced food. That it! Avoid sleeping there at all costs!

Management has issued an DNR for this guest prior to this review. As the owner of the property I personally went out of my way to accommodate this very difficult client with free upgrades etc. (because of lack of hot water the first night). As for the Internet issues in the first half hour of you Stay (Late Check in, in torrential tropical rain) they where resolved by our onsite technician by replacing the damaged wireless equipment in under 1hour. Dear Sir the next time You desire the best room on a property it is advisable to not choose the cheapest offer on the listing and hope for free upgrades at check in during main travel season. And then retaliate with fake claims and half truth reviews. And Yes the visitor left the room less 1 Bath towel !!! Sincerely Yours, Christophe Lang

Right on the Caribbean!
What a beautiful place to relax a few days, shop the art markets of Jacmel, or work from the hotel. I brought my daughter and grandson for their first trip to Haiti and we loved it there! GO to see Baisson Bleu ...if you have a high clearance vehicle!
