Had to park my car a block away. Many things in the hotel did not work. No desk or lamp. Cold shower water. Poor communication. No soap, or shampoos. Seemed like they didn't care. No apologies.

Poorly maintained. The bathroom door wouldn’t close. No spare toilet paper. One of the bedside lights was out.

Check in was quick and friendly, however, when I got to my single queen room (109) it was dark and dreary. There were only two light fixtures in the room, a dim bulb flickered on the ceiling and another similar globe faintly shone over the headboard. The lighting, even in midday, was insufficient. I returned to the front desk and asked to change rooms. I was told my only option was to upgrade to a double queen room for an extra $100 per night. I passed. Fortunately I had packed a flashlight and it was used frequently throughout my three night stay. Other issues: The bedspread was stained. The shower leaked and continually dripped leaving the small bathroom floor constantly wet. The cable box was propped between the TV and the wall, with wires everywhere (tacky). The table was too small to work at. Housekeeping made the bed and provided a fresh towel after the first night but neglected to wipe counters, empty the trash, or replace dirty glassware. They never even showed up the following day. When I asked for a late check out (an extra 20 minutes) on my last day I was told there would be a fee. I passed and was happy to leave. If you need luxury, or even a clean, well lit room, this isn't the place for you. If you simply require a quiet place to sleep within walking distance of downtown, at a reasonable rate (for Jackson), then this may suffice - depending on which room you end up with and who's on duty for housekeeping.

Very limited parking. The beds are on springs and they make a lot of noise. There is little to no room on 1 side of the beds if your in a double queen bed room if you have 2 sleeping in a bed the one on the wall has to go out the end of the bed or crawl over the other person. Only 2 hard wood chairs and a small round table that is covered in overpriced mini bar items so you can’t use it. It’s not a comfortable, relaxing place at all. It does have a great location to the town square.

This hotel came highly recommended, so we were really excited to stay. However, upon arrival we found a large stain on our bed. The next day, we ran out of toilet paper and could not get ahold of the staff for another roll so we ended up purchasing a pack of TP ourselves. There was no one in the lobby during business hours, so we texted for help as directed and also called and their voicemail was full. We also asked for a local restaurant recommendation and were told to check Open Table. There were nails popping up out of the floors for some reason so definitely bring slippers! Definite safety hazard. The hotel is cute, it was pretty affordable and in a great location. The hospitality was just a little lacking.

The location is unbeatable. We walked all around town as it was just outside the door. It was a quick drive to the National Park. The staff was great and always helpful.

I tried for weeks to change my dates of stay to no avail. Very disappointed in the room. For the cost, updates would be nice.

Perfect location and great hotel. This was my second time staying, seemed a bit run down this visit as opposed to last visit. But still a great hotel nonetheless. Very cute!!!! Will definitely be visiting again

Nice hotel. NO parking.
The trendy hotel lives up to the photos. The rooms are small but comfortable. Very clean. Great amenities in the room - the honor bar was a nice touch. The lack of parking is understated in the advertisements. The guests staying in the mail building will struggle to find parking especially in the evening. The front desk service was not good. I felt as though I was inconveniencing them both at check in and for a logistics question.

Not Great!
Room was terribly small. Sink wouldn’t drain, shower sprayed outside of shower from connection. Cleanliness fair. Outside very run down. Pictures on Internet are from a long time ago I’m guessing. Don’t waste your money. Walkable to town was the good thing!

This place was so dirty there was dog hair everywhere in the bed and all over our clothes. The shower head spouted water in every direction. This place is not a hotel. It’s a motel at best. The rooms were so small. My bedroom at home is bigger than these rooms. The best thing was the Glorietta restaurant but it really had nothing to do with this place. We got in early and was not accommodated with an early check in instead stayed freezing in our car for 5 hours. Girl at check in said she’d call when a room was available and she never did and had a bad attitude the entire week that we were there. Dogs are constantly barking in other rooms you can hear every word anyone says in adjacent rooms. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this place. This place is a dump.

The location was good but the room was filthy the floors were dirty the shower curtain was covered in mold across the bottom and ran out of hot water before 2 very short showers could be completed. Sink filled up when brushing teeth or washing hands. Maids didn't restock supplies toilet paper or kleenex. Also not enough parking had to park down the street 2 of the 4 days we stayed. Definitely not worth the $400 per night

The hotel is a bit pricey for what it is however, all of the hotels within the area are comparable in terms of price give that location is a tourist area. The location is great, close to all the local attractions. The only complaint I have is that the trash pick up occurred extremely early (around 3-4am) and was extremely loud - it sounded like the truck hit the hotel with the dumpster. But, I doubt the hotel has any control over garbage collection times/noise.

I can, however, reach out to our waste removal company and remind them that this facility is a hotel and to be more respectful to our guests. We hope you stay with us again on your next trip to Jackson!

Disappointing
Very disappointed with our stay here - not enough parking for how many rooms there are, got charged extra than what was stated when we booked it (did end up getting a refund after I called when we returned home, but still shouldn’t have happened in the first place), price is expensive for how tiny the room was, don’t eat the snacks/drinks they leave in your room or they will charge you astronomical amounts for it, and on our final day when trying to check out, no one was working (we were there during normal lobby hours) - service is definitely very poor here. I will not be returning

Anvil was in a great location. However, room we stayed in you could hear every move the neighbors seemed to make including closing car doors and their room doors. Area was safe but had to walk down a dark alley to get to room. We were there in the off season so parking wasn’t an issue.

The location was very convenient to the downtown area of Jackson. Felt it was safe. Our room was very nice however shower area was small. The decor of the room was dark but there was a large window. Parking was an issue and at night, the lighting around was minimal.

Parking was a bit difficult at times. The drive to the adjacent unit passes through a very unsightly area. The unit is a bit dated and very small. However, the trade off is convenience to the square for shopping and dining.

There is nothing boutique about this converted motel. Totally overpriced for amenities offered. Staff/front desk rude and unhelpful, water pipes so noisy they wake you up. "Service Fee" a joke, since when do guests pay extra to have daily housekeeping? Stay somewhere else that is worth the money.

Parking was very frustrating, we came back from an early dinner, and there was no parking in any of the lots or on the streets. We had to park multiple blocks away in the rain and carry our luggage. I feel a hotel should have plenty of parking for the amount of rooms, they have our sale each night.

Good location
Anvil Hotel was adequate in providing a comfortable place to stay. The rooms are sparse however all we really did was sleep there. It would have been nice to have more than a single wooden chair to sit in though. The price is a little high for what you get but what you are paying for is location. It is in a very good location. Parking is available but limited. The only legitimate complaint I can make is the hot water is not all that hot and not always available.
