"We were prepared for no hot water, no AC, no cell service, but we were not prepared for the overall shady communication, vibes and charges. We booked this hotel to be close to Corcovado, and booked a tour with the hotel. When we asked for details, they said they said that the communication from Expedia was poor, and they only booked our snorkeling tour. We asked to cancel the snorkeling because the national park was our priority. She said they couldn't because they already bought the tickets....

"Vi kan kun anbefale alle at besøge Alma. Hotellets ejere Scott og Russell har skabt en lille perle i den lille by Ojochal. Omgivelserne er lækre, og stemningen er fantastisk. Det ligger på en lille sidevej oppe ad et bjerg. Der er kun fem værelser, hvilket gør, at man føler sig hjemme, og man bliver taget imod som er man et familiemedlemmer, der kommer hjem på ferie. "This a beautiful property with rustic cabins. There are amazing views as it is high up. We saw many birds from our balcony including green parrots and toucans. It is quite a climb from the road, definitely not accessible, but close to Drake Bay beach, a grocery store and several restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful. We pre-arranged a tour to Corcovado National Park through the hotel and it went great. You can order breakfast the day before and have it specially prepared for you...

"The welcome by being collected on the beach and having our luggage taken to the room was a nice touch. The room itself was clean and the view was gorgeous. We were disappointed with the general service, particularly in the hotels restaurant. We booked a table on the first evening and it wasn't ready when we arrived, with the staff seeming stressed at our arrival. We were sat down 15 minutes late and the food took over an hour to arrive, during which time we were not visited once by the staff...

"We had a great 6 nights at Casa Gitana, we had a lovely room with a shady private patio, our room was cleaned everyday and the staff were great. Breakfast was included and there is a restaurant for lunch and dinner. It's a short walk to the beach and many tours can be organised at the hotel. Thanks. "

"Dette er et rigtig hyggeligt sted lige i vandkanten og tæt på junglen. Ikke noget luksus, men value for money. Personalet er super venlige, service mindede og de fleste taler engelsk. Fin mad når man tager prisen i betragtning. Man skal bare huske at køre i 4 wheel drive hvis man kører dertil, da man skal køre en time på grusveje gennem mindre floder. Dette er et lille paradis på jorden, meget stille og roligt."

"Perfect Hotel. We enjoyed the location with a breathtaking view over the ocean, sunset included, with a clean and refreshing infinity pool. Service was more than perfect, very friendly and very personal. "Lovely little riverfront casitas. It’s a bit removed from restaurants and bars but it gives you the option to prepare your own meals or the hosts provide some food offerings as well. "Really great staff who really know the area and cultivate the farm. They can give you information on ecology you won't find outside of guided tour groups in the park, and there's also yoga. The property is beautiful and it is easy to see birds. It is a pretty primitive property and so you should be expecting bug bites and no modern comforts. Bathing in rainwater is amazing, but it is also not warm. Also the ants really bite- I was itchy for a week afterward. So be careful. "

"Loverly hotel with great rooms (with fridge), central location to everything in Drake Bay. If you choose the rooms with Mountain View you can sit on the balcony and watch birds. Even a tucan came by and sat in the tree one morning. A little agouti lives close by and wanders around morning and evening, and there are some beautiful iguanas nearby too. Very friendly and helpful personel. Great pool and pool area, and delicious drinks. I did not try the food. Also a coffee area where you can make tea or coffee all day. Beautiful green views. Hotel margarita has my highest recommendation. If I return I will stay here again. "
