Breakfast situation horrible

Fantastic location. The staff is friendly and the hotel is very cute

The people at the front desk was untrained and not aware of the benefits that gold members at hotels.com have. When I explained to them that it’s a free upgrade of possible, then he said “oh yes , but unfortunately we are fully booked and it’s not possible” . And then I have to show him that that was a big lie. I could book many rooms online and it was for sure possible to upgrade me. After arguing about that , it was finally possible . But it’s not a great experience to start your stay at the hotel like that. I was very disappointed and the staff didn’t even say sorry for the mistake. The hotel is nice and fun layout. But the staff I met and the service from them is terrible. Not worth the money. Maybe it’s okay that the staff is not trained good enough , but it’s for sure not okay to lie to your guests! That is below every standard ! The room they gave me was a loft it’s a cool room , but very bad design and I see it as a safety issue, that when the bathroom door is closed, then you can’t exit the room. A closed bathroom door is blocking for the frontdoor to open! It’s very bad. I can’t believe that this can pass a fire inspection. I mean in case of an emergency , and the bathroom door is closed. Then the front door is blocked by the handle of the bathroom door.
