"Nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The room is small but neat and tidy. Location is convenient. There're plenty of restaurant choices and big supermarkets within 15 mins walk. Train station is opposite to the hotel, but it is under maintenance so we took a shuttle bus to another town to change train when leaving."

"Stayed here for one night for a weekend trip to the mountains. Lovely old property and friendly owners - lots of information on the area and history of the house. Room was comfortable and warm on a very cold night outside. Great views and well located to explore the area. Breakfast was fantastic and great start to the day in the dining room."

"Very quiet at the end of the road. The cockatoos were loud in the morning and just before they went to bed at night. A simple one kilometer walk to the fish and chip shop in Saint Mary's, that was good food too, especially the scalloped potatoes that are sliced thinly battered and then deep fried like a piece of fish. I love them."

"Beautiful grounds, quiet and peaceful, quality accommodation, perfect for a getaway in a semi rural location. Limited phone/internet reception can be a bonus for some. Shops are a short drive away. Overall, our stay was a very restful, pleasant experience."

"Rustic Spirit is a magical place to unplug and slip into the tranquility of this property. The privacy of the chalet, the spa and the outlook make this place something special. "Staying at Madison’s Mountain Retreat was the perfect getaway and experience for my family. We stayed 3 nights and really enjoyed the atmosphere of the grounds. Anne’s warm welcome and knowledge about the animals was excellent and we all enjoyed feeding the Alpacas, Llamas & Goats. The indoor pool was great for a quick swim & we felt nice and cosy in the rustic cabin accommodation which had a lovely view of the alpacas and farm. We will definitely be back. "
