Old southern charm, but with emphasis on the old— our room was as clean as housekeeping could possibly make it, but the carpet had large stains, shower door can’t stay shut, paint on bathroom ceiling and parts of walls cracked and peeling. Tile missing on bathroom floor. Brilliant location right in historic district because hotel is pretty much the historic anchor (former exclusive millionaires club built at end of 19th century). "For 1, I got a room with 2 beds and told them I had children, the bathroom was a death trap for my toddler. The tub was so slick I had to go buy bath mats to put in it. The built in shower METAL fold down chair was also extremely dangerous. There was also a sharp spot in the center of the tub floor that cut my babys foot. And its just part of the tub. There were all kinds of spots on the blankets, I went and bought blanket sets for the beds. The wifi was HORRIBLE, I evem paid for the "better"...

"The staff stood out as everyone from the front desk to the housekeepers and the breakfast lady went out of their way to greet and ask about any concerns. The room amenities were a little disappointing, but the overall experience distanced that. I think you will pay much less than a full service hotel with their upgraded amenities, but the price difference equals or exceeds the slightly different amenities provided by a much more expensive hotel."

"The hotels location is definitely it's best asset. It's located right on the beach, which we loved. Great staff and service. The hotel generally feels safe and welcoming. The hotel is dated, and so are the amenities. The mood at the breakfast area was great, and the meal was ok, but we have had better at other budget hotels.
