10/10
It was even more beautiful than I could have imagined, and the photos simply cannot capture what you experience in person. It was the perfect getaway for us — quiet, picturesque, comfortable, plentiful amenities, a well-stocked kitchen for when you forget that cup of flour or that extra cup of coffee. The half dozen, locally laid eggs were a welcome surprise (our eggs FROZE solid in our cooler — I wasn’t about to find out how to transform frozen eggs into scrambled eggs!). Fortunately the eggs came in handy!Communications with the host were great! Next time we stay, I’d love to sit around the fire with them and swap stories! We went horseback riding at a nearby outfitter and would highly recommend it!! The close access to the northeastern entrance to Yellowstone was amazing and the hour and a half drive through the mountains, though hair-raising at times, was simply divine! The nearby town of Red Lodge was a very cute town — a little on the touristy side, but cute and friendly. It was also a convenient 45-minute drive for when you need to pick up supplies. It came in handy when our doggo had a really bad allergy flair up. Speaking of dogs, their resident gentle giant Maverick was a welcome socialite, dropping by to say hi and check on us. Our dog Sunny eventually warmed up to him and I’m sure would have been best buds with a longer stay.I hope to be back again — 10/10 would stay here again.
