"Great place as a base for exploring the Borders. Overall stay was good. Room was exceptionally clean(had a couple of minor niggles but these were dealt with happily and swiftly). Stayed in a double which was quite small (with only one bedside table). Would 'upgrade' to a larger room if staying again. The best thing about this hotel is the people and the outstanding service they provide-nothing too much trouble and so friendly. Ooh- and good food including a fab breakfast. "

"We recently stayed at May Cottage and it was just what we needed. The cottage is lovely and much bigger than we anticipated, especially the bedrooms - they’re a really big! Kitchen has everything you need and even though we had taken hand wash and washing up liquid etc, it was all provided. Even dishwasher tablets! The views from the garden are exceptional and it was very quiet. We loved sitting watching the families of swallows flying in and out of their nests and listening their babies...

Stay away from room 6
"Cold, uninviting room that looked nothing like the ones shown on this page. Blue stains on the bathroom wall which no one had bothered to clean away apparently. Next to no water pressure in the sink. Creaky floorboards. Room situated next to the entrance of the guesthouse and you can hear everything from the other side of the door. View from the window in the corner of the room looked like it was facing a dump."

Dejligt forstads-hotel med nem adgang til city
"Dejligt hotel, som ligger perfekt. 2 minutter til den hyggelige strandpromenade og en lille havn. Bussen direkte ind til centrum stopper nærmest lige uden for døren. Hyggelig bar og god restaurant begge med imødekommende betjening. Og dejligt udeområde, hvor man både kan spise og nyde en øl eller drink. Eneste udfordring for os var, at fredag og lørdag aften var præget af en del larm både fra baren og fra det tilstødende selskabslokale. Det sluttede dog mellem kl. 23 og 24 - men det var meget tydeligt at høre i værelserne. Der var ingen rengøring af værelserne under opholdet, men alt i alt var vi meget tilfredse."
