This booking was genuinely a nightmare. We arrived and immediately noticed how hot it was in the unit. The thermostat was set to 68° when we arrived, but the actual temperature was still 83° at 11 p.m. We immediately contacted the property manager, who was extremely unhelpful and seemed unfamiliar with the property despite being the direct point of contact on the booking.
We were repeatedly told that the A/C had been serviced two weeks prior to our arrival, but no offer was made to send someone out to address the issue the next day. Instead, we were instructed to flip the circuit breaker on and off ourselves, which we did not feel comfortable doing. We also noticed that the refrigerator was not functioning properly, so we decided we could not stay in the unit. When we asked the host to issue a refund, she began yelling over the phone and saying she had no control over the money or booking.
After having to find another place to stay at 1 a.m. because the property did not have functioning A/C, we contacted customer support the next day and learned that the cancellation request was initially denied by the host despite us only being there for an hour. Overall, the experience was extremely stressful and disappointing, especially given the condition of the property upon arrival.
