Dejligt men noget slidt hotel
Dejligt hotel omend noget slidt udendørs og på værelser. Lækker morgen buffet med alt hvad man kan ønske sig. Flotte fællesarealer indendørs, men gangarealer omkring pool bør udbedres. God service. Man mærker bestemt den forgangne storhedstid, det er en oplevelse.

God service og dejlige omgivelser
Dejligt poolområde med nogle smukke solsenge. Personalet var hjælpsomt og smilende og servicen var i top. Morgenmaden var god og omgivelserne var dejlige, man fornemmer slet ikke at man inde i centrum af en storby. Det eneste minus ved opholdet var, at vores værelse lå ud til en trafikeret vej, så der var en del larm og en kedelig udsigt.

Dejligt og elegant hotel smukt beliggende ud til vandet. Fine omgivelser og faciliteter. Skøn saltvandspool med hav udsigt. Dejlig mad. Desværre var der under. Pres ophold flere eksempler på ringe service. Noget vi ellers ikke har oplevet i de 18 dage vi har rejst rundt på Sri Lanka.

Old but good hotel, but no sleep due to thin walls
The hotel location in general is very nice. Right next to the water. In general the hotel is also in a good, old but good, condition. The problem with my stay, was the room is was having. I was "upgraded" to a room with sea-view however the room has paper-thin walls. Meaning you would wake up 100 times during the night, but because my neighbours was making any noise, only because of the walls. This is very unfortuned.

Pampering and relaxing
Relaxing and pampering is two keywords for this hotel. Another is a feel for old times but in the most positive meaning of the word. If we ever come back to Colombo we will absolutely stay here again.

visse dele af hotellet er rigigt fint, men hoetellet bærer også præg af en høj alder. værelset skuffer en del men der var en rigtig god servise ved morgenmad og nogle a de restauranter vi spiste på

This stay was a step back in time with all the modern conveniences and amenities. The staff is amazing and helpful with our greatest experience with concierge help, Emmanuel. The breakfast buffet did not disappoint. The on site bars and restaurants were top notch. Don’t miss the historical photographs in the bar. Amazing experience and we look forward to returning soon.

The rooms and hotels are great. Staff is very nice & the pool area is beautiful. I stood twice at 2 different rooms & it’s pretty neat and clean. The only flaw I encountered which was very disappointing is the stained bed sheets in junior sweet. Buy new sheets for crying out loud! It wasn’t even a standard room but a suite!

Nice old colonial style hotel on the beach but charmless staff at reception spoilt the visit - we said good evening mr and mrs ourname checking in the best they could come up with was “passports” and it did not get better. Communication with the hotel prior to arrival was very poor. Lots of work on this needed.

The hotel is lovely and very traditional. The staff are very attentive and always welcoming. The pool area however requires upgrading as the flooring is broken in several places and is a safety hazard.

Our second stay at the Galle Face - once you have stayed there you won’t want to stay anywhere else in Colombo. The hotel is set right on the beach front with a fabulous 30 m sea salt pool A qualified lifeguard is always on duty- a big thank you to Aja for welcoming us back to the pool and sunloungers -a top spot! Happy Hour cocktails on the hotel green to watch the sun go down while the flag is lowered and the bagpipes play - perfect start to the evening. Dine then on the open terrace with a fantastic choice of Sri Lankan and international cuisine. Several bars on site to choose from after this Highly recommend this hotel

Wunderschönes Hotel im Kolonialstil. Sehr leckeres Frühstück mit viel Auswahl. Da ist für jeden was dabei. Die Zimmer waren auch sehr schön eingerichtet, allerdings sind die Möbel doch ein wenig veraltet aber das hat uns nicht gestört.

A historic hotel with a wonderful verandah, bar, and pool overlooking the Indian Ocean. Rooms and hallways are a bit shabby. Staff superb.

Galle Face Hotel does live up to its rich heritage and the main thing is the service received from everyone from the concierge team, to the room cleaners, the team in the restaurant that aim to please and even from the man in the uniform employed to scare the birds away with an unloaded slingshot! Yes, the hotel is showing it's age but the rooms are generous and comfortable and the history...amazing! My suggestion is to get someone to show you how to work out the old fashioned key in the lock as it is very annoying and the keyhole is too low to start with!

Synes godt om: Rengøring, service og personale, overnatningsstedets tilstand og faciliteter
It is a beatiful place with the flavour of old authentic feeling but with all the modern conveniences. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The morning breakfast time is a bit hectic but there is plnty of areas to R&R. I always wanted to stay in GF and I fulfiled my dream.
