This was a disappointing reservation for us... They snuck in an additional 4th little dog and let them on the furniture contrary to our published Pet Policy, as well as let them pee right in the front yard, on our fence posts and on our solar lights out front. There were a LOT of spot stains left on our floors, pet urine smell upon check-out that required shampooing and dog hair removal from throughout the house. We could not in good faith recommend them to other Hosts or allow them back, darn it. :o( *NOTE: Pet Owners-This is EXACTLY what ruins it for others. If you let your dogs run all over your house and "piddle" (accidentaly or not) and cannot follow requested pet rules in someone else's home, find a sitter or LEAVE them home. This stay will make us rethink allowing pets in the future, ruining it for all the responsible pet owners.

This lady was a very challenging guest... She repeatedly texted and emailed us throughout and after her stay with a long laundry list of everything that she didn't like about our lovely home and property. It became very eveident that despite every effort on our part, that we were not going to please her. In nearly 7 years of of renting out our beautiful Lodge to literally hundreds of people, this was only the second time that we agreed to not ever have her back as a future guest. :o(

Ray, Thank you for taking the time to offer your review. We are glad that your family enjoyed all gathering out at the Lodge during the time to celebrate your mother/grandmother's life. The peace and serenity of the property lend it to such occasions... Yes, we are aware of the deck and have made the commitment to replacing it some time ago. Trouble is, finding a contractor. With all of the home rebuilds after last year's wildfires and the current new construction boom in Spokane, we are "Waiting our turn in line". We are hoping for a May 2021 start date. We were just last month able to have the entire home interior painted, new LVP flooring installed on the first floor and a brand new heat pump/AC unit placed into service. We were on those lists for quite some time as well. Frustrating as a property owner to have to wait so long, but we're certainly committed to maintaining a 5 star property and experience! And, yes as well: the tiny cabin is really only used in the Summertime. Had you let us know that you wanted to use it during your stay, we would have opened it up for you. Next time... This was a very difficult guest to work with, both before and after their stay. She booked, then wanted to cancel a month later for a full refund, then "I want a little kick back" came after tire kicking our property and finally, a lengthy back and forth text thread the day after check out about some food that they left onsite... As we explained to her, due to Covid enhanced cleaning protocols, any food that is left behind after check-out is disposed of by our housekeeper. Same with the hot tub not being available due to government Covid regulations (vs. "not working"). Everyone knows (should) the rules by now. The flies were attracted to all of the food that was put out and the doors being left open. This property is located in the country. The trade off for tranquility and privacy is "nature"... These guests actually left several glue fly traps sticking to our kitchen cabinets upon check-out, that had to be removed with solvent and leaving a sticky film. All this, after us reducing the event fees for her daughter's wedding since her original venue cancelled on her and they were on a tight budget. While we appreciate their business and we are happy for her daughter, we would most likely not rent to her again in the future.

We are sorry that you ladies did not fully enjoy your bachelorette party stay out at a "Rustic Country Getaway". The property is accurately described and we have hosted several such occasions with great success in the past. If you would have notified us of the toilet paper issue or during your actual stay, we would have immediately directed you to where it is stored on site. Same with addressing any of your other questions/concerns as they arose. We pride ourselves on excellent guest support and we believe our stars and "Super Host/Premiere Partner" ratings attest to it. Perhaps, next time a "Spa" would be better suited for your expectations.
