Hostels i Central Valley

"Staff was kind"

"10pm was the cut off time for checking in. Got there right before 8pm, and had to wait almost 30 minutes outside before someone came and opened the door. Air conditioner was missing a remote to operate. Went out for dinner, and found out we didn’t have the key to come back into the property. The toilet was not working. They knew it was two of us there, and they gave us only one towel. I won’t be staying there again"

"The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised by how excellent the interior was. There are several common areas including a full kitchen and all are well maintained and well thought out. Very beautiful."

"I have no idea how In The Wind Hostel gets good ratings. Maybe mostly men stay here and avoid the brunt of it, but as a solo female traveler, this was hands down the worst hostel experience I’ve ever had.  The owner’s behavior was unhinged. He has a scary pattern of going from 0 to 100 out of nowhere, flying off the handle, and then snapping right back to a weird 0 like nothing happened. My first morning, I accidentally walked through an open door into his kitchen. He blew up and screamed in my...

"Ha sido de los lugares más excelente en los que he estado y sin duda volvería nuevamente, check in rápido, literas limpias, baños limpios, el personal muy atentos en las entradas y salidas del hostal, todo súper genial, muchas gracias! / It's been one of the greatest places, that I've ever been, with no hesitation I'll book back again, fast check in, clean beds, very attentive staff when it comes to get in and get out of the hostel, everything was just great thanks a lot!"

"Amazing property, well thought out comfy beds with fans / power / lights for each….. two different density pillows! There is a nice path to the river and comfy chairs to lounge in. Owners are super friendly and communication was easy. Parking lot is on the left side of the road about 100 feet before you reach the property on the right side of the road. "

"Bathrooms always dirty you have to rent a towel"

"The private room was very clean and just big enough to stretch out. The air conditioning was very strong. Nikki, the receptionist on duty during our stay, was a wonderful help to us and devoted some of her own time helping us plan our time in Jaco. The pool is lovely, and the hostel owners make a wonderful Gallo Pinto for breakfast every morning."

"The only good thing about this property is the location. I had a private room. The room looked good when you first enter and it has AC. However, the wifi did not work in my room, only the common area. When I was about to go to bed, I noticed there were ants crawling all over the two beds! There were ants also in the bathroom. I tired to contact the concierge (which are just people in their 20’s working there) but they clock out at 11pm. "
