If you’re looking for a place in stay in the heart of Carlsbad, that has something for everyone, this is it. Beach views and access, shopping, restaurants, and friendly people. The staff was excellent and the rooms were comfortable, clean and updated. Beautiful fire places indoors to relax by. Outside green spaces were comfy and spacious. Nice pool and separate hot tub area for the adults.

Beautiful property! Situated just behind the oceanfront homes with a path to the beach. In walkable Carlsbad Village - really no need to leave the property but the rest of Carlsbad including Legoland is an easy drive. Lovely large outdoor area facing the beach with pool, hot tub, plenty of seating. Our room had a balcony with partial ocean view & we loved the farmers market on Wednesday. Will def stay here again.

They used to have activities for the kids but they didn’t this visit. Kids were super bummed.

The convenience to walk to the beach, restaurants and shops is great, the room was clean and comfortable. The Coaster Train was loud from our room but you get used to it. 2 fire pits and 2 outdoor fireplaces were out of order and we were looking forward to that amenity. The bikes could use some service, rusted. The jacuzzi needed to be cleaned. The grounds and seating areas were pretty. It can be difficult to find an open parking spot. Overall good stay.

If you want queen beds and a balcony plan on overlooking the street. None of the ocean view rooms have queen beds. There is a train that comes through in the early hours and there was a police chase at 300 in the monrning. Not so relaxing or quiet.

I absolutely love this hotel and location but unfortunately the only one bad thing with our visit was timing because they had some construction happening early in the morning. Besides that construction, it’s the best affordable hotel.

As a VIP Expedia member, I expect a certain level of respect and good service. I was traveling alone with my child and we were approached several times in a demeaning manner by a hefty, threatening looking security guard regarding our legitimacy as guests (even when we were wearing or carrying their mandatory ink-leaking-paper thin-Disneyland bracelets). I also observed that NO ONE at the pool or in the lobby or elsewhere was wearing bracelets and we seemed to be targeted by security personnel which made me feel very uncomfortable since he kept asking for our room number. The manager on staff seemed very inexperienced and on the contrary, escalated the situation by indicating that security had a right to patrol the guests. She said she would inform his boss, but the next day, he came back and harassed us again. She also said she would credit me for the resort fee (there was NO internet or working television the whole week we were there) but she did not. I had to get my credit the next day when we checked out. And finally, I don't know what the pool guys do to chemicalize the pool, but two bathing suits (swim shirt, and bathing suit) were destroyed by it. Overall, the management and security really cheapened my impression of this 2.5 star "resort". It did not feel like a resort experience at all.

Great location and great beach town The hotel was excellent except that housekeeping was not available on a regular basis. One fault: Housekeeping only seems to occur in the late afternoon and required several calls to the front desk

Adult jacuzzi was wonderful with excellent views. We used the complimentary beach chairs. The large grass area with lounge chairs was very comfortable but needs more shade.

I liked how close it was to the beach. The room was very clean. It’s located in the heart of downtown Carlsbad and close to a lot of dining options. Would definitely stay there again

Great location. Opposite the beach. Parked the car and could walk to everything we needed for 4 days. Countless restaurants and a great, affordable grocery and liquor store(s) all walkable. A great destination for a mid week visit. The resort does a great job of using their common areas, especially outside to the max. Outdoor amenities and facilities all beautifully maintained.

I love the ocean view from the pool. I love that you could walk around and see the ocean almost anywhere. I like that they had activities in case you wanted to stay around the hotel. The beds were comfortable and the hotel room was clean. I want to go back.
