Great value for money in a very pleasant hotel with spacious apartment and bright balcony. Super friendly, kind and attentive staff at Reception, breakfast area and also when passing in the corridors. Top stay!

Excellent location to Centre of town and the Waterfront. Rooms are spacious and well laid out, and very quiet. Great base for a few days of work / relaxation in CPT.

If you want to experience how a hotel from a large chain should be run properly this is the place to go. Not 5 star but much better than many 4 & 5 star hotels we have stayed at. Rooms (apartments) are fully equipped, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is a great standard. Location is excellent – easy walk or Uber to Waterfront and other areas. The staff were helpful and friendly to the last man/woman. The couple of times we needed to call someone (e.g. trying to figure out how to operate a very complex Bosch washing machine) we got immediate and effective attention.

The property does not have an airport shuttle and should not advertise as having one, it is a 3rd party company. I reserved an airport pick up, it did not show up and i had to find my own way to the hotel. When checking out i reserved an airport drop off and the front desk was not able to secure a ride for me to the airport. The 3rd party shuttle asked what race i was and declined to take me to the airport. I had to find my own transportation

Loved the location and the staff. The room was huge. Seems a waste to have both sofas and none be a pullout. Could use a small shop at night for sodas and snacks. Great place to stay for central business district or the V&A Waterfront.

I like that they had restaurant on premises. The staff was excellent. I didn't like like that the outlets weren't universal.

Cape Town Family visit.
Family stay in Cape Town city centre. The apartment hotel has the perfect setup for a guess wanting to look his own dinner or choosing to dine in on the night. From helpful staff the clearly marked QR codes. This was truly a gem to stay in

I don't know where to start-this place was amazing. The rooms were unreal. Very clean, very big. Great view. Good location. The staff treated myself and my family like each one of us were long-time friends. Every time you walk through the lobby or in the restaurant you are greeted warmly. If you are coming to Cape Town, I highly, highly recommend this place.

Disappointed
Between the ample choices in 4 star hotels that caters for a family of 4 in 1 room (consisting of 2 rooms), I carefully chose Protea Hotel due to the brand name as I've travelled a lot and Protea Hotels has never disappointed me in their portfolio.. This time, I'm afraid, I was left with a harsh disappointment. There were good points like - the amazingly friendly staff from security at the gate to Precious at Reservations, the waiters and the people at Reception. All amazing! The breakfast buffet - it works. Not blown away, but it works. The beds are comfy, the living space (living room and kitchen) in the 2 bedroom apartment are comfy, but the bathrooms and bedrooms are not well designed. The on-suite bathroom in the main bedroom definitely leaves much to be desired and this is where things start to turn bad...You get the idea that this hotel is about 20 years out of date regarding maintenance and is very run down in certain areas. The floors - run down. Most appliances run down. The extractor of the oven - horrifically creasy. After confirming my booking twice, and staying for 4 nights... You got the idea that there was no care on your arrival from housekeeping's side or PR's side. Much like 4 star hotels in Israel or a bought-over hotel in the country side that once carried a big Hotel Group Name. Then, you have to take the price into consideration - and for what you get.. It is a no-no for me for a second time. There are better options in Cape Town - with a view.

The Wi Fi connections were horrible unless you were standing in the lobby. That was a major concern since there were 13 of us on this trip. It was really frustrating. They really need to upgrade this for the future. Other than that, we had a great time and would stay there again.

The exceptional staff service. Top notch! The staff were incredibly attentive and even ran out to the grocery store to pick up cream dor our breakfast coffee when they ran out.

Warm welcome...very friendly. Special shoot out to Sandiwe(Sandy) at the bar who made us Dom Pedros late at night. So friendly and went the extra mile. Our apartment was neat and so luxurious. Everybody was attentive and professional. Will be back again and again.

Quarto do hotel é excelente, um apartamento completo porém faltou secador de cabelo e a tampa da banheira, amenidades não foram repostas diariamente assim como limpeza do piso que estava com areia e que permaneceu assim até o final das diárias. A nota negativa principal para o hotel se dá pela localização, que apesar de próxima de vários pontos turísticos é extremamente perigosa. Sofremos tentativa de assalto assim que chegamos, pois deixamos as malas no hotel e fomos andar até waterfront. Melhor hospedagem seria em Camps Bay, Seapoint ou Waterfront mesmo.

#TEAMFARRINGTON family vacation
We made arrangements to collect us from the airport. The driver was there on time with a sign. The customer service from the doorman, the lounge, front desk and security were all helpful and attentive. The rooms are just as described on the site. Close location and quick 10 minutes walk to the V & A waterfront. Quick walk to the city sight seeing office, Long street and Bo-Kaap area. Great for 1st timers to Cape Town visit.
