"A worn-down hotel on the shore of the Belize River. Room was OK, but not completely clean. We got spotty sheets with holes. The pools were filled with leaves, and we didn't see anyone use them at any point. Construction workers were fixing up the place, but they started cutting rocks at 7 am, which meant no more sleep for us. Not an enjoyable stay."

"The unique setting of the accommodation in the peace of the forest near the river is amazing. Just lounging outside and watching the wildlife is incredibly relaxing. The resort is family run business and everyone is focused on making your stay enjoyable. The breakfasts and dinners were absolutely amazing! We also really enjoyed our trips with Yusef."

"This is a beautiful hidden treasure of a spot. The staff was fabulous and would definitely recommend BEVL to any bird watcher (new or experienced). Lenny was a delightful guide full of information and a ton of patience. This place even has shoe rags for anyone that ends up with yucky hiking boots"

"We were hard pressed for choice, but really happy we ended at The Palms. Very nice staff, clean pool and even a small and clean gym. Only minor issue were some glass shards that house keeping had overlooked - it was taken care of promptly when we pointed it out. Water pressure on the third floor is not impressive and the beds are memory foam, which is a matter of preference. A/C was super efficient and the selection in the minibar very good. Limited choice of restaurants nearby, but for a stay of two nights it was perfect! Would recommend to a friend and come back if we are ever in town again. "
