"Great staff and a friendly welcome made my one night stay quite enjoyable. The food was great both in the evening and morning especially being sat outside on the terrace next to the River Avon which was a very pleasant experience. It was extremely hot weather during my stay and the current lack of AC made sleeping difficult especially with the large noisy room fan provided. However I understand that AC is due to be installed shortly so I wouldnt hesitate in staying at the hotel again if work...

"Great little pub in a wonderful countryside location. A nice stopping place for visiting Bristol or Bath and the surrounding areas. I had a lovely dinner here too. Highly recommend."

"A lovely room. Light airy with big bathroom, comfy bed, excellent complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits in spacious room, with great view. Breakfast and evening meal all homemade/cooked. High standard and delicious."

"First, the staff - all of them - at The Channings, were superior. Friendly, helpful, accommodating, and willing to go out of their way to help. You won't find better, imo. Next, The Channings is a lovely building, inside and out. Built in 1865 as a lavish home, it retains much of its original architectural beauty - plaster moldings, lovely staircase, beautiful floors, stained glass windows, and gorgeous woodwork. The beer garden is spacious and there's plenty of seating, though it's all picnic...

"An excellent stay with a large well decorated comfortable room with a super king bed. Strong shower. Dinner was very tasty and we had the cheese and onion pie and gnocchi. Bar staff were very attentive. This was a great place to stay"
