    There is a particular kind of satisfaction that comes from staying somewhere that was clearly built to last — and that is the feeling that 30 Madden consistently delivers. The apartments are an award-winning development in the heart of Wynyard Quarter, designed by Studio Pacific Architecture, developed by Willis Bond in partnership with Eke Panuku Development Auckland, and built to a 7-Star Homestar sustainability rating. The building won an Excellence Award at the 2022 NZ Property Industry Awards. Most guests will never know or care about any of that — but they will notice the quality of the finishes, the thoughtfulness of the layout, and the feeling that the apartment they are staying in was genuinely designed to be lived in rather than just sold.

    This two-bedroom apartment is well configured and well proportioned throughout. The open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area is light-filled and comfortably furnished, with air conditioning, a Smart TV, and high-speed WiFi for relaxed evenings in. The kitchen is fully equipped for proper self-catering — stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, and all the cooking essentials you need. A dedicated workspace makes this equally practical for a business traveller as for a family or a couple on a longer stay.

    Both bedrooms are comfortably appointed with quality linen and storage. The bathroom is modern and well maintained throughout. The private 12-square-metre balcony is one of the building`s standard inclusions — a proper outdoor space rather than a token Juliet-style ledge — and it catches the afternoon light well, making it a genuinely pleasant spot for a morning coffee or an evening drink. One secure car park is included, which in Wynyard Quarter is a valuable practical inclusion.

    30 Madden is one of the most thoughtfully designed residential buildings in Auckland`s recent development history. Designed by Studio Pacific Architecture and built by LT McGuinness, the building achieved a 7-Star Homestar rating for sustainability — the highest standard available in New Zealand residential construction — reflecting low-water appliances, high thermal performance, LED lighting, optimised passive design for natural light and ventilation, and stormwater systems designed to handle extreme weather events.

    The development`s communal spaces are a genuine highlight: a series of elevated courtyard spaces filled with over 7,000 native plants, their selection guided through collaboration with mana whenua, alongside integrated artwork on the building`s façade that reflects the cultural significance of the Wynyard Quarter site.     30 Madden sits in the heart of Wynyard Quarter — one of the most successful urban waterfront regenerations in the Southern Hemisphere, developed over more than a decade as part of Eke Panuku`s transformation of Auckland`s waterfront. The North Wharf dining precinct is right on your doorstep: Baduzzi for handmade pasta and Italian small plates, Hello Beasty for bold Asian-inspired sharing plates, Giraffe for waterfront dining, and a wonderful selection of bars and wine rooms that make this one of Auckland`s finest places to spend an evening.

    Silo Park, with its outdoor cinema, weekend markets, and public art, is a short stroll, as is the Auckland Fish Market. On Saturday mornings the Wynyard Quarter Farmers Market sets up along the waterfront — freshly shucked oysters, artisan bread, and serious coffee. The Viaduct Harbour`s celebrated restaurant and bar strip is an easy walk east, connecting through to Commercial Bay`s flagship waterfront precinct and Britomart`s cobblestoned laneways. The Auckland Ferry Terminal is nearby for Waiheke Island and Hauraki Gulf services, and the CBD`s Queen Street, Sky Tower, and Aotea Centre are all within comfortable walking distance.

    Auckland is easily explored from 30 Madden Street. The Inner Link and Outer Link buses connect the central suburbs frequently. Britomart Transport Centre is an easy walk with full train network connections. The Auckland Ferry Terminal is nearby for Waiheke Island and harbour services. One free secure car park is included with the apartment. Auckland Airport is approximately 30 to 40 minutes by car.

    A complimentary starter pack is provided on arrival — a small selection of tea, coffee, milk, and bathroom essentials to get you settled comfortably from the moment you arrive. Supermarkets and convenience stores are nearby for any additional supplies you need during your stay.

    Weekly and monthly discount rates are available and apply automatically to longer stays.

    A private airport transfer can be arranged at additional cost — please get in touch at least 48 hours before your arrival and we will organise it for you.

    To ensure a smooth arrival, we ask all guests to complete a short online pre-check-in form and upload a valid government-issued photo ID before arriving — this takes just a couple of minutes.

    This is a non-smoking, no-vaping property throughout — including the balcony and all common areas. No parties or events. Quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Check-in is from 3:00 PM and checkout is by 10:00 AM.

    Check in available after 3pm through lock box key collection. Lock boxes are located a short distance away, full details will be sent prior to arrival. We advise collecting the keys on your way to the apartment, if coming to the city via taxi or UBER, ask the taxi to wait a second while you collect the key. The walk to the apartment from the lock box is not far, but no one wants to walk in the city with suitcases!

Nice, clean place. Convenient to shops and restaurants with good bus access too. Very livable area. Friendly, helpful staff too, who communicated well throughout to make everything smooth to check in and leave. Apartment doors could do with oiling as squeaking was a bit disturbing at night.

Perfect location for waterfront weekend

The apartment was exactly what was advertised. It was in immaculate condition and very comfortable with easy access parking. We stayed to watch the SailGP and the location could not have been better. Also perfect for going out for dinner and easily walking back at night. There is a delicious cafe on the corner and a supermarket only a block or two away.

Quality Accommodation

The apartment is well-maintained and equipped with necessary amenities for a pleasant stay. The apartment and complex appear new, and the residents are polite. The beds are comfortable, and the room is well-insulated from weather and outside noise. There are many dining options nearby, but there is also a supermarket and a fully equipped kitchen available for cooking. The fridge and freezer are full-sized. The internet connection is fast and easy to access, with clear instructions provided by the hosts. A later check-out option was offered, which was convenient for preparing for the cruise.
