Run-down shed--NOT a tiny house.
I love a cheap stay & can deal with anything reasonably safe, generally comfortable & mostly clean. This is the first place I’ve seriously considered leaving immediately. We booked months earlier & only stayed because World Cup lodging had become scarce.
The host was intrusive before arrival, sending about 35 separate texts the night before check-in with new rules, warnings, & instructions about what we could/could not touch, move, plug in, or use. She demanded multiple ETA updates before & during my drive, sent rude messages when I didn’t reply right away, & required me to text again once we were standing in the driveway beside a specific vehicle.
The unit is badly constructed & does not appear to be built to code or properly permitted. The bathroom door doesn’t open fully or close properly b/c it is too large for the frame & has no latch. A huge chandelier hangs dangerously low (I’m only 5-8). The A/C ran constantly but never cooled the space below 80 b/c the unit is too small for the opening. Someone used tape to try filling the gap, but it was old, dusty, bug-covered, & falling away.
The place is filthy, cluttered, & badly maintained. The bathroom floor is peeling up, exposing dirty plywood, & there was hair, grime, and dead bugs all over. The Wi-Fi barely loaded a webpage & the “kitchenette” is a joke. There are two campers also crammed into the yard. At night, we could smell their toilets.
Cheap is one thing, but this was terrible.
