Nestled in a tropical wonderland, this private luxury home offers the ultimate retreat with stunning views of Zihua Bay.
HOUSE RULES: As a Superhost, we aim to make your stay as comfortable as it can possibly be! Our mission is to help our guests create beautiful family memories in our cozy home. For us to do so, we would truly appreciate it if you can follow these house rules and confirm that is has been reviewed WITHIN 48 HOURS OF YOUR BOOKING. This is to ensure that if there is any reason the House Rules cannot be followed, you, our guest, will have the option of cancelling the booking penalty free as we have a Strict Cancellation policy. Thank you in advance and truly appreciate your cooperation! \- The number of guests can not exceed 6 people \- No pets are allowed. \- Keep noise to a minimum after 10pm. \- There shall not be smoking inside the rooms of the house. Extra cleaning fees to remove odor and stains may be applied. \- PLEASE WASH YOUR DISHES after use. If dishes are not washed, extra cleaning fees may be applied. \- PARKING: parking is provided on the entrance to the carport and guests must not park outside the assigned parking stalls unless unloading luggage or groceries. \- We provide pool and bath towels for our guests but these are not to be taken out of the property. If you need beach towels for adventures outside of the property please bring your own. Please return all accessories to their rightful places at the end of your stay. \- Please do not rearrange our furniture. \- If you would like to host an event (i.e. wedding, graduation, not party), please speak with us about it first. \- If guests are found to have had a party without host permission which results in extra cleaning, guests will be responsible for extra cleaning charges and in the unfortunate event of the disruptions alerting neighbors, GUESTS WILL BE ASKED TO VACATE THE PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY. \- If guests are suspected of carrying and/or using illegal drugs of any kind, the authorities will be engaged, and GUESTS WILL BE ASKED TO VACATE THE PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY. \- Lastly this is my home , please be respectful of the property and keep it clean before you leave. Best views in Zihuatanejo

This property is amazing. The BEST views in all of Zihua with full bay sites and/also unobstructed sunsets out into the Pacific. We’ve traveled to this wonderful town for 20 years. Location is best suited for hikers/active people. Can rides to and from the house range from 120-180 pesos.

Amazing Views

This property is located in the finest area of Zihuatanejo within a gated and patrolled neighborhood. The home is beautiful however, we had a few minor issues. Although we checked in at the requested time, there were no towels, bath tissue, soap, or drinking water available. We contacted the new person in charge of the residence, although he spoke no English, he was able to get the necessary items for us. The manager last year was much more attentive to our needs and provided us a wonderful taxi driver who we also used this year.

Killer view but needs some tlc

We had a nice stay at Casa Rumi. The view is breathtaking, day and night! The infinity pool feels like you’re on top of the world and the open-air living area is spacious and instagram worthy, especially the hanging daybed. Communications with the property management team were easy and the team was very responsive to our needs. Really excellent service from Oscar, Mani, and team. The rooms were a bit different than expected. The primary suite is on the top floor, with a lovely view and it’s own panoramic deck. The other two rooms are on the lower level, below the pool and living area. Not great for families with younger kids. We didn’t need the 3rd bedroom, but it wasn’t clear how it would work as a bedroom. The house seems a bit run down/in need of some repairs, and the pool, while beautiful, was too cold to enjoy. It was also overdue for fumigation - fire ants and quite large spiders visited a few too many times. Overall, we had a nice stay, but hope the house can get the maintenance it needs.

Living in a tree house

This was truly a unique property as it really was open air living as the kitchen, dining, and living room and deck are all outside . The view is outstanding seeing all of Zihua especially Playa la Ropa beach. We had an issue with the pilot light on the hot water tank but it was taken care of immediately, The beds were very comfortable but the kitchen lacked a few items- cutlery, few newer glasses and a need for a new bbq which arrived the day we left. Plenty of room for 3 couples or a family. Contact manager Manuel was very helpful as was pool person Elias,the cleaning staff was great and the chef that came in to cook us dinner a couple of nights was outstanding- try the mole, mmm We were sad to leave this one of a kind experience but we will return

A hard place to leave!

As advertised, but no photo can truly capture the view. Breakfast overlooking the bay was the perfect start to the day. Then down to the beach for some lunch, swimming and sun. But we always made it back to the house late afternoon to enjoy the last few hours of each day. There is no better vantage point to watch the sun go down with a cold drink in hand. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen has everything you need and Richard was always there to help if we had any questions. Highly recommend treating yourself to this little piece of heaven.

Peaceful and relaxing.

Lovely home. No need to leave unless you want to go in the ocean. Not Central but just a short taxi ride or 20 minute walk. Prefer the quietness to busy beaches.

We enjoyed 5 weeks at this unusual home with a breath taking view. The dish washer was being repaired so we hired the housekeeper Perla for an extra day a week. The owner responded rapidly to our enquiries and check in was simple. I recommend this property.

New Year’s Trip

We had a wonderful time at Casi Rumi. Located in a private gated community on top of a large hill, the views are literally breathtaking. Pool was a little cool but still refreshing. We still used it nearly every day during the afternoon heat. The kitchen is fully furnished with just about any cooking utensils you could possibly need. We used it a lot. We also watched the New Year’s Eve fireworks from the upper balcony in the master suite. That was awesome. A short call to the security gate and a cab was usually picking us up within 10 minutes or so. After our few busy days in town or on the beach, we really looked forward to coming to our peaceful hilltop retreat. We will definitely be back!

We stayed here for 3 weeks in January, and loved every moment. The house is well-equipped in a quiet area overlooking gorgeous Zihua Bay. HOUSE: Just amazing. Lovely art, comfortable beds, it's great for families or a group of friends, with a well-equipped kitchen and laundry if you decide to spend the day at home floating in the gorgeous infinity pool. Every guest who walked in the door gasped in delight with the view and the gorgeous design. LOCATION: It's not close to any stores, and just one or two restaurants, so be prepared to take taxis (which are inexpensive) everywhere - but the views and peace are well worth the trips. Plus it's a good workout to walk the neighborhood hills in the morning, listen to the birds, and look at all of the views. La Ropa is the closest beach (10 min and $5 USD away) with warm, clear, swimmable waters and plenty of beachside restaurants. It's 15-20 minutes in any direction to the central distict, grocery stories, and many other beautiful beaches. OWNERS: Casa Rumi's owners are generally very responsive and helpful online. But this is not a staffed B&B, so be prepared to figure out how to get your own big bottles of water, groceries, toliet paper and other basic directions.The friendly people at the front gates speak some English and can answer most of your questions, call you a taxi, etc. Be sure to tip them and the wonderful man who takes care of the house and the pool!

Better than expected.

The villa is beautiful. Lots of room for our party of 2 couples and could have easily accommodated more people. Richard is an excellent host. We walked to town several times and enjoyed local food and shops. We took a taxi back up the hill to the villa. The restaurants Richard recommended were perfect for us. The villa has everything we needed and it exceeded our expectations. We are already taking about when we can return.

Amazing week!

The house and all the amenities where great, everything went as planned. From the moment you walk through the front door you are in awe of the view (Beautiful). We did the sunset cruise with Picante catermran recommended by Richard, one of the highlights of the trip. Beaches where great, water was warm and beer was cold! Everyone we came across in town was so nice and enjoyed chatting with them. Our group of 4 would definitely recommend staying at Casa Rumi!

Beautiful house with a magnificent view

Stunning ! The view of the bay and the city is wonderful. A cab was never more than a10 minute wait to take you to the beach or the market . The house was modern and fully equipped. We spent several evenings watching sunsets from our outside hanging bed. Very quiet neighbors ,so very peaceful. The ac was a little fickle, but most nights we had a great breeze coming in. . The first plunge into the pool is a shock, but after a minute you adapt and it’s great. There were even guitars provided so we had a tequila sing along our last night.. Great fun in a beautiful place. We would stay again.

Stunning location and view

This property is located on top of the hill with panoramic views of Zihuatanejo and it's spectacular bay. The main level of the home has an infinity pool, living and dining rooms, full bath and kitchen all open to this view. It is also open to the elements, so if you have rain (which we did) expect it to come into this area. But, the vantage point of watching the thunder and lightening was spectacular. There are 3 bedrooms with private baths, AC and comfortable king beds. The 3rd bedroom is actually the TV room, but it's couch area makes into a large bed. The layout of the home is great and provides good privacy. It was pretty much necessary to take taxis to town or to the beach, but it was very easy and inexpensive. A call to the gate guard brought a taxi up the hill within 10-15 minutes. The owner, Richard, provides a good list of restaurants and info via email. But, a booklet in the house would also be nice. We discovered that we were in low season so a lot of places were closed for the season, though we quickly found the few open restaurants. This is a beautiful home with comfortable furnishings. Our only suggestion would be to provide more of the basic supplies such as paper goods, soaps and food basics.

world class views, great breezes, great place to chil out

location is stunning and trumps minor issues like not being able to safely use central water for minor kitchen duties and not being condusive to walking the neighborhood as it is hilly. Security at the front gate was very responsive to our taxi needs and our landlord was most available for an emergency that came up. Go here

Spectacular Views from a Gorgeous Tropical Paradise

We just returned from 21 days at Casa Rumi. The views cannot be surpassed, no matter what direction you look or from where. From the main living area, you see the bay, the mountains and the open Pacific ocean. If you wake during the night, you see a stunningly beautiful view of illuminated Zihuatenajo across the bay from the master bed without even getting up!, The views are everywhere. The landscaping is breathtaking. Tropical flowers, fruits and plants everywhere. Elias, the caretaker, manages them beautifully. He is there for about an hour or so 3 days a week pruning, watering and sweeping. He also takes care of the pool and miscellaneous household maintenance. Oh yes, the house itself. It is beautifully designed, equipped and furnished. Honestly, it was more space than my husband and I needed for just the two of us, but it was such a luxury to have it all to ourselves. Would be perfect for two couples. Very open to the outside and built into the cliffs in the way done only in Mexico (especially, Zihua). You can see the house no matter where you are in Zihua. It is at the very top of the highest hill at the southerly end of La Ropa. We had great fun pointing it out to people when they asked where we were staying. The pool was a little cool for us, but it probably gets more sun (and becomes warmer) later in the year. It is unheated and relies on the sun for heat. Even though we had 21 days of perfectly blue skies and sunny weather in the high 80's, the sun angles were such that the pool was shaded until about 2:00 p.m. Then it got sun, but not enough to warm it up. Good for exercise, as being at the top of the highest hill, everything is downhill to get to and uphill to return. We tended to walk out and cab back. We didn't have a car. Richard and Charlotte were gracious hosts. Very responsive to questions; both before we left and while at the house. We loved it!
