There wasen’t any hot water when we arrived in the evening. The staff told us it was because they were fully booked and the hot water has been used. We have never experienced this before at any place and the spa that we had also smelled really bad when we tried to use it. They didn’t compensate in any way. Can’t recomend the place, are not comming back.

Dear Josie, thank you for your feedback. You booked standard room and you have been accommodated at deluxe + room (upgrade up two levels higher then your booking). We fixed the problem with the hot water during few hours and next day was everything ok. Also we had a lot of guests who use the spa as well and nobody mentioned any bad smell. Best regardsReception

Definitely not 5 star....
I don't know which standards rated this as a 5* hotel. Everything costs extra - even using the pool was €20 per person for an hour. Beds weren't very big and me being tall, I had to crouch together. No air con, so room didn't have great climate. Room was pretty worn down and had a tiny TV. There were some holes in the curtains (probably from people smoking) that was patched together. Breakfast was terrible - soggy eggs at a 5* hotel? And super dry bread... Also, there was a cat in the restaurant which seemed to live there and people would feed.. Not great hygiene..... Hotel restaurant at night, was great food and bathroom looked amazing - not practical to shower though, as there was only a tub and no shower curtain, so everything got wet. I planned this as a surprise on a roadtrip for my mom and it sounded great on paper.. Also - watch your side mirrors if parking here.. That gate has definitely killed a lot of those!

We spent a very happy weekend here. The room was beautiful with an astounding view of the castle. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable.

We liked its historical significance. We were a bit disappointed when during the tour of the castle the visit of the Mucha-related rooms (the object of our main interest) was rushed and cut very short.

Ein zauberhaftes Schloss mit großem Park in schöner Landschaft. Tägliche Führungen im Schloss, ein gutes Restaurant. Die Zimmer geschmackvoll eingerichtet, der Zugang barrierefrei. Ideal für ein Relax-Wochenende oder einen besonderen Anlass.

Wunderschön gelegenes Schloss mit guter Küche. Empfehlenswert ist das Mieten des Schwimmbadbereiches und der Sauna. Toller Spa Bereich.

Super fijn verblijf
Super mooi, goed onderhouden hotel in een kasteel. Het thema is overal doorgevoerd. Bediening in het restaurant is zelfs in passende kleding. Personeel zeer vriendelijk. Elke dag huishoudservice. Prachtige omgeving, half uurtje van Praag, wat zekee een bezoek waard is. Wij hebben een super fijn verblijf gehad!

Schwimmbad und Sauna fehlt
Das Hotel wirbt mit Schwimmbad und Sauna. Diese wäre vorab zu reservieren und separat zu zahlen. Hierfür fehlte jeglicher Hinweis - ich war enttäuscht. Auch wenn das Hotel und Service sonst gut war.

Awesome castle hotel on a hilltop
This place was awesome!!! We have been touring old castles in the Czech Republic and it was a privilege to stay in this beautifully restored place. The price was quite reasonable as well and the restaurant very good. The picture is the view from our room.

Lovely place. Staff very nice. Hotel is clean. Free parking. A great getaway. our party had two rooms, a standard and deluxe. Neither room had a shower, just a very nice, very large bathroom with a big tub with attached hand held shower. This may be an inconvenience for some and even difficult for less mobile/older folks to get in and out of the huge bathtub. WiFi very poor in the rooms. Mostly nonexistent unless in restaurant and even then it was spotty. Out in the countryside so very easy to sleep well- very dark and quiet at night.

Gorgeous stay
Staying in a castle with its own vineyard on your European vacation IS possible! Not only is this a beautiful property surrounded by a gorgeous county view, there is convenient (and free parking) and a fantastic restaurant on site. Breakfast is beautiful in a great Great Room with plenty of good choices, the rooms have great character, there are trails on the property you can wander and enjoying the gardens in a quiet and atmospheric setting at a very reasonable price are extra vacation memories in the making.

周囲の景色は素晴らしく、庭もよく手入れされています。 部屋もゆったりと感を十分に感じることができます。 レストランは朝食のバリエーションは少ないものの、夕食は美味しかったです。 ただレセプションの対応がぶっきらぼうなのと、ホテルの部屋まで階段を荷物を持って担がなければならず、案内の人が助けてくれる訳でもなく、少し残念でした。

De nombreux mauvaises surprises pour cet établissement : - Il faut traverser une zone industrielle pour y accéder - Nous avons choisi cet hôtel pour la piscine . Hélas il faut payer en plus. Très limite et pour un hôtel qui prétend être un 4 étoiles. Et re-hélas impossible d’accéder à la piscine en soirée. - Pas de wifi dans les chambres. - Lit qui grince - Restaurant bof, bof - Et aucun sourire de la part de la réception ou des serveurs. Bref à éviter !

hotel in chateau with lots of character
Staff friendly. Hotel restaurant food good, you can walk around the castle in woods. Gardens really pretty. The only downside and this is why I marked the comfort down is that there was no air con. However even saying this, I stayed at the hight of Summer and it was not overly hot due to the high ceilings.

Tout est en toc. 180 euros en rase campagne pour une vue sur les poubelles, une chambre archi sombre, c'est carrément du vol. Ils ne peuvent en aucun cas prétendre à leur 4 étoiles, pas de wifi dans la chambre, décor ringard, état général du château très limite

A great castle experience!
First, the good news. The castle is awesome, a real historic gem with cool courtyards, views for miles, and interesting nooks and crannies like the pool, which is located in a vaulted crypt. The room was large and well furnished, including a mini fridge and large table for eating or games. The breakfast was great, probably the best we had anywhere. The restaurant was very good too, and probably the best for miles around. The servers were dressed in medieval costume and were very nice and helped us with the menu, which was not available in English. Had a traditional Bohemian dinner and it was great, very reasonable price too, about $45 for four including wine and the manager brought over an apertif after dinner. The location is midway between Prague and Plzn and ideal as a base to explore. Nearby is Hrad Tocnik, a true medieval fortified castle in ruins. It was closed when we went in March, but the workers let us in and we had the place to ourselves. Easy 25 minute drive to Zlicin where you can park the car for $2, buy a $5pp metro day pass and get into and around Prague. The not so good news. You will have to carry your bags some distance from the car park and if you have trouble walking or climbing stairs, forget it. Also, the pool is very cool, but is included only as part of the "spa" and must be reserved in advance for $10pp per hour. I thought it should have been included, especially since we booked the largest suite they had.

Nice historic hotel
A very long way to carry your luggage to the room with no help. We were informed that there was a sightseeing tour starting at 10am and no booking was necessary. after waiting to 10.15 we were informed that the tour was not going but later found out that a tour from outside the hotel was taken through the hotel at 10.30. So we were not impressed as they could not tell us when the next tour was or if there was going to be another tour. So this was very disappointing as part of the enjoyment from staying in a historical hotel is to get the history.

Können dieses Hotel nur empfehlen,freundlicher Empfang und wir bekamen ein upgrade aufs Zimmer anstatt Deluxe Zimmer bekamen wir eine Suite mit riesen Balkon,da wir einen großen Hund dabei hatten ?!? Familiäre Athmosphäre,teilweise waren wir die einzigen Gäste im Hotel,Frühstücksbuffet morgens im Restaurant,alles vorhanden was das Herz begehrt. Führung durchs Hotel war angenehm und sehr informativ. Wir kommen auf jedenfall wieder

Beautiful, historic and a bit quirky!
Beautiful, historic and great views. Wifi isn't good in the rooms , but ok in the restaurant. Also, no stand up showers as most rooms have a slanted ceiling over the tub. Also, you must request a remote for the air conditioning unit if you want to use it.

Sehr schönes Ambiente, eine sehr ruhige Lage!
Perfekt gelegen in der Autobahnnähe und sehr ruhig! Man kann das Schloss besichtigen und im Schlisspark spazieren. Wer ein sehr schönes, ruhiges und von der Stadt abgelegenes Hotel sucht, ist da richtig!

Flott avslutning på ferie i Tsjekkia.
Slottet ligger plassert på en høyde med flott utsikt i alle retninger. Vi fikk et stort og elegant rom på ca. 45 kvm. God mat, både til middag og frokost, som ble servert i en ridderhall. En flott avslutning på en ukes ferie i Tsjekkia, og med kort avstand til Praha og turen hjem.

Great, but not on GPS!
Warning to anyone who drives here: we arrived at night, couldn't seethe castle, and the GPS didn't work! We tried 3 different apps and the only one that had the hotel's address was Google maps. By the time we arrived, I was ready to leave, and the non-accessible entrance didn't help. (I'm on crutches due to broken knee) However, all of my frustration evaporated when I saw the room and toured the charming courtyard, ate at the amazing restaurant, and enjoyed the wonderful service. This place is a gem and considering that I walked in with "one star" in mind, it's a miracle that they changed my opinion so quickly.

Gediegenes Hotel innerhalb historischem Schloss
ca. 40km außerhalb Pilsens in Richtung Prag gelegenes Hotel "gestrandet" dort wie einige (sehr) wenige andere Gäste, weil wieder einmal in Pilsen kein Hotelzimmer mehr zu bekommen war Schlossanlage mit Hotel liegt sehr abgelegen auf einem Hügel in malerischer Umgebung, auf den ersten Versuch schwer zu finden das Schloss wurde mit EU-Geldern in 2004/2005 aufwendig restauriert und ein Hotel in die alten Gemäuer integriert alle Informationen zu Schloss und Umgebung sind nur in tschechischer Sprache vorhanden außerhalb der Hauptsaison Sommer ist dieser Ort sehr verlassen, gleiches gilt für das Hotel als auch das Restaurant trotz gähnender Leere im Restaurant ist das Essen passabel

situé dans un très beau site, le chateau a beaucoup d'allure, surtout de loin. Chambres convenables (mais mobilier standard) et spacieuses, restaurant sympa et d'un bon rapport qualité prix, le tout assez éloigné des standards d'un 5 étoiles toutefois.

Great place..great stay.
Just great. A castle above a small town about 30-40 miles outside of Prague. We had an excellent stay and this is the type of place that needs to be supported by hotels.com members.
