Ganske udmærket hotel med god service blandt personalet - der var en del krager på hotellet som var nærgående og tig mad fra bordene - underligt fodrede steder fuglene med brød udenfor restauranten - internet trækker klart ned med sammenlagt vil vi give 3.5 stjerne

Completely renovated hotel (2018). Good location.
The hotel was completely renovated during this summer (2018) with very modern and clean rooms. The beach and pool area is fantastic. The staff is super service minded and friendly. Old comments about the hotel being old can be disregarded now after the complete renovation. The location is super central and you are in walking distance to everything in Nungwi.

The accomodation in small villas was very nice. The pool was adequate. The property has lovely comfortable lounge chairs and tables located conveniently around the property. You have to go down steps to the beach but at low tide it was very nice. Captain Big Fish, who was strolling around the property, arranged a fabulous sunset dhow cruise for us at a very reasonable price. A variety of restaurants are nearby along the beach. The only complaint I have is breakfast. Not great food and not much variety.

Absolut inget 4 stjärniga Hotel. Frukost katastrof. Rummen gammalt slitet. Stenhårda sängar Runt poolen var det fint annars en stor besvikelse. Alldeles för dyrt för det man får.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour au sein de cet hôtel. Le cadre est sympa, propre, personnel agréable et serviable. Un peu à l'écart de l'agitation et du tourisme de masse de Nungwi, tout en étant à proximité de tout. Nous redoutions un peu le petit-déjeuner et le dîner en demi-pension au vu de certains commentaires mais nous avons été agréablement surpris. Pas mal de choix au petit-déjeuner et service rapide au dîner. Musique d'ambiance au restaurant. On a l'impression que l'hôtel prend en compte les commentaires de ses clients. Petits points négatifs: pas d'alcool dans l'établissement, les lits ne sont pas très longs, la clim au dessus d'un des deux lits, manque de luminosité dans la chambre et la salle de bain, insonorisation pas top (on entendais les voisins dans leur chambre), le traitement de la piscine est très fort. On recommande :)

Ok but too quiet for me
The resort itself was very nice. However the rooms were a bit unmodern, very bad lightning in bathroom, but comfy bed. Super friendly staff. But way too quiet for us, no music by pool. Food was ok, we didn’t have all inclusive. Still gives you a very authentic experience from their old school stove & grill station. Happy overall but I prefer a bit more modern and energetic place

Hotel review 09/23-
Overall the hotel was tired and not up to date. The rooms was ok. The location was next to the beach with a nice private sunbathing area. The breakfast was not up to standard except for the egg station. Lack of fruits and always cold coffee. The Hotel should inform the guest about their non alcohol policy, was a big surprise and this tourist site! Recommens the hotel next door offered very good service, excellent food and drinks for tourists.

Vi hade en underbar vistelse! All personal verkligen hjälpsamma och serviceminded! Rummen fina, rena och rymliga. Bra läge på hotellet och gångavstånd till allt man behövde. Ett tips till hotellet är att få till några krokar, tvättlina eller dylikt så man enkelt kan torka badkläder, handdukar och dylikt utomhus. Men som helhet ett hotell helt i vår smak! Kommer gärna tillbaka!

Koselig hotell
Koselig hotell med flott beliggenhet. Det som trakk det litt ned var dårlig Internett, frokosten var heller ikke noe å skryte av og hver gang vi skulle spørre resepsjonen om noe så måtte de høre med sjefen først. Fasaden på hotellet er meget pent. Innvendig er noe slitt.

Hôtel typique africain avec de belles prestations. Personnel d’une extrême gentillesse. Ils viennent même le soir mettre la moustiquaire et vaporiser du produit. Hôtel très calme, on est vraiment dans une bulle, dépaysement assuré. Juste que la restauration est bonne mais plutôt un 3 étoiles. Pas beaucoup de choix et qualité moyenne.

Une expérience incroyable et inoubliable.
L’emplacement de cet hôtel est juste excellent sur la plage de Nungwi, le Smile Beach Hôtel possède selon moi le meilleur rapport qualité-prix de tout Zanzibar en alliant tranquillité d’esprit et sérénités. une expérience magnifique de la plus belle plage de toute l’île avec sa piscine, sa vue grandiose sur du sable fin et une eau en dégradé bleu azur avec la possibilité de s’y baigner chaque jour contrairement au plage à l’est de l’île à cause de la marée basse . Nous avons aussi des chambres soignées et tout équipées avec un ménage matin et soir, l’architecture de l’hôtel n’a rien à envier au Hilton et le Smile Beach Hôtel lui est même supérieur en tout point. Quand à la qualité de la nourriture, elle est juste excellente que ce soit sur le repas du soir ou au petit déjeuner tout en étant bien moins cher que la concurrence. Mais la force de cette hôtel ne s’arrête pas là, les équipes du Smiles Beach Hotel sont très professionnels et très polyvalents pour pouvoir répondre à nos besoins, nous avons passé des vacances magnifiques voir même littéralement incroyables. Mr Fantastique nous a organisé des excursions de rêve avec des guides extrêmement compétents, que ce soit sur l’île de Mnemba, le Safari Blue ou encore la visite de Stone Town, il n’y a pas eu d’égal en therme de considération, de professionnalisme et d’organisation, c’est un sans-faute, 10/10, ce fut juste paradisiaque sur toute la ligne. Nous remercions les équipes et Mr Fantastique, nous reviendrons

l hôtel est idéalement situé avec multitude de restaurant a proximité immédiate. l'hôtel est plutôt agréable et a taille humaine et plage privée très sympa. malheureusement ce n'est certainement pas un 4 étoiles ! je dirais 3 étoiles maximum. le personnel est sympa mais pas du tout professionnel ! les chambres manquent cruellement de rangement . Il n'est précisé nulle part qu'il s'agit d'un hôtel ou vous ne pourrez déguster aucun cocktail ou toute boisson alcoolisée! appel a la prière tous les jours a 5.15 du matin juste a l'arrière de l'hôtel ! suivi de prêches interminables ! pensez au bouchons d'oreilles ! évitez les chambres coté Hilton (groupes électro et clim très bruyants). PDJ très moyen pour un soit disant 4 Etoiles ! l'atout majeur de cet hôtel reste essentiellement sa situation géographique qui compense en partie les autres désagréments.

Fantastisk vistelse! + Alltid tillgängliga solstolar (gratis) + mycket fina rum, rena och ombonade + mitt på stranden som var jättefin + härlig familjär atmosfär + hjälpsam och trevlig personal + toppen läge - vissa basala råvaror tog slut vid frukosten (tex smör till brödet) - ingen försäljning av alkohol (dock är det inga problem att köpa med sig från grannhotellet eller supermarket och dricka vid poolen)

Love our stay in the perfect location.
I had an amazing time at Smiles Beach Hotel. The staff was very attentive. The bed is HUGE. And every night around 7pm, they come in and set up the mosquito net. Many choices for breakfast and the location is superb. If you're driving, there's free parking and a bit or dirt road to get there. The only comment I have is how they use a key lock on the outside. I feel it may be a hazard...especially if someone wanted to lock you in the room.

Hotel super recomendable. Muy limpio, atentos y mucha tranquilidad. Nosotros fuimos de luna de miel y repetiríamos al 100%.

Hôtel 4 étoiles qui ne les vaut pas. La chambre était vétuste et mal nettoyée, Nous avons retrouvé des mouchoirs usagers sous les matelas. Les draps étaient tachés. Le lavabo n'était pas fixé et le plan de travail menaçait de se détacher. La robinetterie était cassée. Le générateur de l'hôtel voisin faisait un bruit épouvantable jour et nuit. Le ptit dej était très léger avec très peu de choix.

Die Lage und die geringe Gästezahl war sehr angenehm. Eine kleine Anlage mit großem Angebot. Speisenangebot ist sehr lecker aber bei Halbpension sehr klein (Keine große Abwechslung bei den Abendgerichten, beim Frühstück könnte mehr Auswahl auch nicht schaden). Der Service ist sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Leider schwankt die Reaktionszeit sehr stark auch ohne große Auslastung. Aber man ist ja im Urlaub. Wir würden das Hotel wieder buchen.

Super hôtel
Hôtel très bien situé avec un espace privé donnant sur la plage... Le personnel est très serviable et très gentil. L'hôtel n'est pas très grand, donc pas beaucoup de monde et ça nous convenait parfaitement. Le seul bémol était le restaurant pour dîner qui n'avait pas un choix considérable mais il y a plein de restaurant super juste à côté.

This was a lucky pleasant finding! The staff is super friendly and attentive. The hotel location is great with private area in front of the beach, which is very convenient, compared to other properties we saw in the neighborhood. Wouldn't think twice to recommend this hotel.

Unfortunately stole our time at Nungwi
The Hotel was overbooked, so we had to stay at another hotel for one night… Next day we meet up to check in to agreed time, but they were over an hour late, so we had to cancel the trip we were going to that day. If you order the stay with dinner included, you can’t choose from the regular menu. You can only choose between two dishes. Nice place and location, but the service dissapointed us.

Rummet och hotellet i sig var väldigt bra men servicen va dålig. Wifi dog titt som tätt, inge tryck alls i duschen, maten var ok, restaurangen som hör till var verkligen inte 4-stjärnig.

It is muslim hotel (= no alcohol to be served), which would be ok if someone told us before, it is not written also at hotels.com web pages. The boss/manager of the hotel seems to be kinda strict and sharp to his employees, which we could often see. Otherwise nice clean hotel, friendly and polite employees. Food was normal. Not sure if cost vs.benefits is worthwhile.
