Dejligt hotel
Hotellet ligger fantastisk centralt . Dejlig morgenmad . Det er et meget roligt hotel med både bar og restaurant . Fine værelser , og herlig udsigt , hvis man bestiller det. Gode restauranter, shopping og store historiske oplevelser lige rundt hjørnet .

Overall had a good stay. Friendly and helpful staff. The city wall is very close to the hotel. The Clifford’s tower is right outside of the hotel. Shambles is less than half a mile away. It is convenient to get there before the big crowds show up.

The Hilton York was very good. The staff was extremely helpful with information, walking navigation, highlights of the city. We were only there for one night and we got to see a lot of York and eat in some very nice restaurants. York is very beautiful. The room was fine, nothing to report that was a problem. I would recommend this hotel and York.

The hotel was spotless, the car valet guy was a pleasure to know and was always on hand to help. The rooms were spotless, but way too hot. No air con and the windows only opened slightly. I would not like to be there during the summer! We booked a family room and still had people outside of our room shouting at 330am! Not a family kind of hotel at all, too many groups of adults swearing and shouting. We couldn’t even drown out any noise in the corridor as our bathroom fan didn’t work, which wasn’t great for any bathroom activities! Perfect location for the centre and shops/bars a small walking distance. The staff at the hotel were super helpful and polite at all times, just wouldn’t stay there as a family again.

10/10 for location. Facilities haven’t been updated since the 90s by the looks of them. 4 breakfasts I had the bread was always rock solid or not there, half the restaurant isn’t accessible as it’s “closed for the bar” at 8am…. and I got a rash from the bed sheets so the location is the only thing you’re wining on staying here

The dining area felt very open and airy with a lovely view. The staff were friendly, happy and efficient. The room was great because we had a window that opened allowing fresh air, i stay in so many hotels that feel claustrophobic!

This is our 5th stay at the hotel. As always, we were met with very friendly and pleasant staff on arrival and departure. There was a slight issue with heating in the room but we were immediately supplied with a supplementary heater.

Very good and efficient service, breakfast was excellent - really wide choice. Location is unbeatable for York - right at the heart of everything and on site parking too so really convenient. However, the room itself (256) was tired and clearly in need of a full refresh - patched in wallpaper is never a good look and the shower was adequate at best.

The frontage and reception were excellent. The room was shabby. Cold shower (despite trying it at different times of the day) Received an ‘accessible’ room when there was a door leading to another room. That room was occupied and unfortunately that person had a cough and kept the light on all night. Which was visible under the door. The carpet in the room was absolutely disgusting too. However, the things to do around York kept us busy and out of the hotel for the most part

The hotel was an excellent location and the staff were very approachable and helpful. Breakfast options were outstanding. The only down side was parking turned out to be more expensive because of no spaces at the own car park.

The property is very dated. Our room was extremely old fashioned and dated. The carpet was stained and had long hairs on it, so if you walked barefoot you’d get them between your toes - disgusting. The bathroom is very dated also with no working extractor fan so when you have a shower the room gets so wet that condensation drips from the ceiling! Just a very old-fashioned, dated hotel in desperate need of renovation.

The hotel is average 3*. Staff started to make noise at 8am , chatting loud with some other people next to our door,despise the fact that we had a privacy card hanging on the handle. The only thing is good about this hotel is location.

A great central area to walk almost any place, plenty of restaurants around, and even close to a Hop on Hop off bus tour stop.

My only complaint was the humming noise coming from the corridor at night.Not sure if it was the lights or heating , but being a light sleeper this kept me awake.Apart from that the hotel was lovely,staff very attentive & happy to help. Will definately be back

Half term at the Hilton
Great location, friendly staff and a pancake machine! We had a family room with two double beds, it wasn't huge, but great to have proper beds for everyone. Lots of choice at the breakfast buffet.

The location of the Hilton in York is brilliant. It’s a 4-5 minute walk to The Shambles and the heart of York. Didn’t have to use taxis at all. Very safe area. Underground car park with electric charging point very convenient. Good choice for breakfast. The only issue we had was the shower head wouldn’t move a useable position as the adjustable holding was broken.

We arrived for my husbands 40th Birthday (so special trip for us) the bathroom had silver fish running round the floor it was absolutely disgusting. The bath had brown stains - we were so disappointed. I went to reception to complain and although they were amenable and moved us to another (very basic- though not crawling with silver fish) room, having 2 young kids and bags this was not the most convenient when we’ve arrived after a full day of walking around York. I would have expected some more customer service- maybe a drink for the inconvenience etc but there was nothing like that. With the brand and reputation of Hilton I would have expected more. This was a special birthday present trip we were incredibly disappointed.

Location location location
Really good location for exploring York, very close proximity to shopping, shambles, york minster. All within about a 10 min walk. Staff were very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was really good value for money, and very tasty. Comfortable room, with a nice bathroom and toiletries.

Perfect location. However, certain staff members were rude and not welcoming. This being the valet guy! He just made you feel so uncomfortable. Not great when you’re paying £25 to park there.

Lovely location in York. Not as welcoming as I've found with chains such as premier inn. Almost felt like the staff thought we were in the wrong place. Some areas are getting ready for a more thorough clean or freshen up, but comfortable and serviceable.
