The walk from the car park to the flat was a bit longer than advertised. The WiFi in the flat was very slow (DDL). The water faucets in the bath/shower were a bit fiddly. The flat was very cold on arrival and took quite a while to warm up. The kitchen was fully equipped for our needs - coffee, tea, espresso, milk, sugar, washing up liquid, dishwasher pods, washing machines pods. A bit of a surprise that the washing machine didn’t dry the clothes.

Great location

What we liked the most is the central location. Within blocks of the Shambles, Bettys Cafe, Boots, Marks and Spencer, Jorvik, and more. The instructions for getting keys was a bit off. The lock box instructions are not accurate as to the location. The apartment is on 2 floors with a narrow spiral staircase to get between floors. The apartment was clean, but parts are a bit run down. the closet door in the bedroom was off its track. That said, you cannot get a better location. Sites, restaurants, shopping and more are all withing a few blocks. Streets are free of cars, so walking is easy. With the apartments faults, I think we'd stay there again because of the location.and the fact that it was slean.

Not up to standard,

The location was great, that aside, I could not register for the parking as the maximum number of users had been reached, I had to delete a previous vehicle to register mine. There was no hot water at the property for the duration of the stay, I called the numbers on the contact sheet, left messages on both of them, emailed them and did not receive a reply, (I still have not had any communication with them) The stairs to the bedroom are narrow spiral stairs, which are a bit of a problem if you have had a knee replacement and have a little difficulty on stairs like this. overall it was not what I expected and I will NOT be using this apartment again.

Give this one a miss

Although free parking is available, it is not on site parking, it's a 7 minute walk away. Access into the property is on the first floor (up a flight of stairs because the lift is out of order). The bedroom and bathroom are down a narrow spiral staircase, so I wouldn't recommend for anyone with mobility issues. The booklet in the apartment states that complimentary gin and tonic is available, that was not the case. The fridge/freezer was switched off at the wall and the power was in a hidden spot behind the microwave (same for the washing machine). There was an empty washing capsule box, so no washing facilities really unless you take your own detergent on holiday with you. Cleanliness was poor, it felt like staying in a student share house where the occupants are at a stalemate about the cleaning schedule. The only good thing was the location, very central. Overall, I wouldn't recommend.

First off a little delay in communicating check in instructions. The location is down some narrow alleyways. There are 6 lock boxes for keys, so that took a little figuring out. Kind of like going to an escape room but in reverse. Once inside the smell hits you. Bachelor party vibes. The smell of urine or vomit covered by sanitizer scent. And that was just the entry to the building. Up some stairs that are either stained with blood or someone’s beverage. Upon entry to the apartment things seemed a little better but soon we would realize the flaws. The upstairs is fine and the sofa bed worked. Extra linens were available as well as a second bathroom. Now, to the dungeon. Down a very narrow spiral staircase the main bedroom is found as well as the bathroom with a shower. Regarding the bathroom the floor tiles felt to be collapsing under our weight. The smell of mold and moisture also gets stronger down there. The tub had a continuous leak of the hot water which was concerning as there is a sign upon entering the apartment mentioning a small water heater. With some finagling I was able to get it to stop. Entering the dark and musty bedroom you find more stains and carpet lifting up around the edges. I imagine the mold smell has something to do with what is underneath the carpet. The bed was fine and bedding was clean. Wash machine has mold growing in the soap dispenser so after that I booked at The Grand York Hotel. This is a bachelor party sleeping quarters.

We had communication from the free parking ahead of time and attempted to follow the process for registering, however, couldn’t complete it as it wouldn’t accept our phone number. The host did help with that and completed it for us. What I would say about the parking was it’s a ways from the unit and you have to walk it. You cannot drive to the property. When we arrived there was no hotel, just a sign with no instruction about how to access the reservation. We went to the Bruks coffee shop in the area and she attempted to help us. Accessing the shops WiFi we checked our email and there was no info on how to get in. We sent off an email for help with no immediate reply. Then we connected with a stranger living in the building who kindly helped us access the building and offered to put us up for the night. He kindly let us use his WiFi (the coffee shop had closed) and finally we had a reply telling us the code to get into an outside box for the key. But we still couldn’t get in as we weren’t told the apartment number. So I had to contact the host about that. To stay in this place you need to know the code to get in the box, the code to get in the inside door, and the apartment number AHEAD of arriving. The apartment had a spiral stair that you need to take luggage down. And limited hot water with a tricky shower/tub. Slippery with valves that had to be centered to shut off the water. Overall, I wouldn’t depend on this host if you don’t want to be left standing.

The location is excellent, but the property itself did not meet basic FIRE safety standards. There were no working fire alarms in the entrance floor apartment – the units had been installed but had been ripped off, placed on the side and had no batteries. We immediately messaged the owner and Expedia to sort it, as this is a serious safety issue, and received no response AT ALL. We ended up having to go and buy a fire alarm ourselves just to feel safe enough to sleep. The spiral staircase inside the property was also loose and felt unsafe to use. The entrance where you collect the keys was full of overflowing bins, which created a poor and unhygienic first impression. Inside, the apartment smelled VERY VERY strongly of weed ( our belongings and clothes stink now ) and the bath panel was hanging off. The location is great, but the safety issues and lack of response from the owner make this accommodation unsuitable. It needs urgent fire safety and maintenance attention before being rented out again. I WOULD NOT ADVISE STAYING

Beautiful and convenient

Lovely place, has everything needed and beautiful. Super convenient. The only real thing to improve would be the mattress.

Worst Property I Have Ever Stayed At!

One of the worst experiences we have had. Had to sweep the crumbs off the couch. Tables and floors were filthy. No hot water. The entire bath mat was covered in mold underneath. Used dental floss was in the bathroom. Empty candy wrapper by nightstand. Apartment was old and unlike the pictures. Very small. The location is decent. When we instantly complained through Hotels.com, the property owners refused to help at all or offer any refund. RUN from this property.
