Dominating the skyline are the dramatic ruins of Whitby Abbey, perched high on the East Cliff and famously inspiring Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Whitby Abbey is a short 15 minute walk from the property.



A walk along the pier or across the sweeping sands of Whitby Beach offers classic Yorkshire seaside scenery, while the West Cliff area provides colourful beach huts and family-friendly attractions.

There are multiple stops a few minutes’ walk from YO22 4JP (e.g., Well Court, Abbey Lane and Eskside Cottages) where regular local services call, including routes such as X93, X94, 95 and 96. These buses link central Whitby with nearby communities like Robin Hood’s Bay, Scarborough and Middlesbrough, though service frequency can vary throughout the day and week.



The main local hub for buses is Whitby Bus Station (and nearby stands such as Bus Stn Stand 2), where you’ll find a wider range of services. Operators such as Arriva UK Bus run routes across the region, making it easier to travel to places like Scarborough, Middlesbrough, Redcar and beyond by public transport.



For rail journeys, the closest station is Whitby, about a 10-15 minute walk from Cedar View.
