"We had the most amazing stay at The Pheasant Inn. Stuart, Alison, Christine & all the staff made our week away perfect. Nothing was too much trouble & everyone was so friendly. The food was beautiful & piping hot just as we like it. We are definitely going to return to the Lake District & we will definitely be staying at The Pheasant Inn. "We stayed in room 25. The view over the estuary is up there with the best I've ever stayed in and worth booking for this alone. The arrangement where you get your key from the Pennington and have breakfast there but can dine in either seems confusing at first. But who cares if you get that view which is ever changing and no photo can capture it."

"Really helpful team - we needed to collect keys early to attend a wedding and the team not only accomodated this but letbus check in to change Clean, tidy room with everything you need for a short stay. Utterly idyllic views brilliant location "

"Friendly and hard working staff, lovely, clean room with fan available. Shower was great! Hot chocolate was a nice addition as well as the usual tea and coffee. Vegetarian breakfast was very nice."

"Didnt have my booking on the system, appeared to give me the reserve room that they use for last case scenarios. The stairwell ran diagonally above the bed so every time someone walked up the stairs it boomed through just above your head. Hidden charges for using the gym. Main reception in a different building. Free parking was the only decent part. "

"We checked in to this beautiful old inn, and were greeted by owner Johnathan, we were shown to our room and told if we needed anything just ask. Being the winter the kitchen is closed Monday and Tuesday which Johnathan apologised for, we replied it’s absoulutly fine. He told us of the local Chinese just up the road and said please feel free to bring it back to our room to eat, which we did. Excellent Chinese takeaway. We slept like logs and woke to have full breakfast that Jonathan cooked which...

"We spent a night at the Wheatsheaf, to break the long drive from Scotland to Berkshire. Our room, although not huge, was clean, with crisp, white bed linen on a very comfy bed, and with lovely views of the pretty village church. Although warned about the frequent bell ringing, it did not disturb us in any way. Nice, white towels were provided in the shower room. Lucy and her team couldn't have been more welcoming, efficient, and helpful. It was convenient to be able to enjoy our evening...
