The host did not communicate until the day we were due to arrive and only after I tracked down a phone number deep within VRBO. He knew nothing of my rental which had been booked a week before. He said the property I booked (3 bedroom, 2 bath) was not available due to property damage. He had a different property (2 bedroom, 1 bath) across the street from the beach that he said would be as comfortable and would work for 5. As we were a couple hours out of town with a toddler, we decided to trust him and accept the change. The cot for the toddler was so uncomfortable, they would not sleep in it. The refrigerator was next to the bathroom, not in the area considered a kitchen. The living space for 5 was a small room with one wall being the kitchen - a sink and a stove, with a portable under the sink dishwasher. There was a dining room table, a couch, and two stools that were dangerous to sit on. The stairs up to the flat had no handrail. The two bedrooms were small. The room with the cot would not allow any movement in the room once the cot was used. For the most part the rooms were clean aside from the shower which was rather moldy looking around the grout on the floor of the shower. We were not there long enough to even shower. The location was amazing! My mistakes - cancel if host is not responsive and handle all changes via VRBO! Had to leave and now trying to resolve with VRBO.
