My complaint is the hidden fees that were added after my stay- when Expedia says “total price” don’t believe it. The hotel charged an additional $32 per day at check out. This is on top of $40 per day parking and confusing “free perks” that basically required additional purchases or payments to use.
They justified it by saying “we gave you all these free perks” but I didn’t need or care about the perks and had to adjust my schedule just to use them. Often with an attitude from the front desk guy who apparently believes he’s better than every guest he spoke to. This was disappointing. I fortunately can afford the hidden cost but thought about others who saved up to come to see our nations capitol, and don’t know how they afforded the extra $100 per day ($400 for 3 night stay) credit card charge (held for incidentals), and the extra $147 for surprise fees beyond the booking price, on top of $40 parking per day (they don’t tell you about the other options). Worst part is I guess they can just charge whatever they want without telling you about it because they require your credit card before checking in. Frustrating ending to otherwise great trip.
