First the bad:
Don’t let the terms “Oceanside” and Bay View” fool you into thinking there are sweeping waterfront views. There are none. The ocean is concealed by a dune and the bay bridge is a distant object in the background over rooftops of the neighborhood.
The house is worn and, though spacious, is rather stark in decor. The extensive use of slate floors felt cold, considering at least half the in-wall Cadet heaters were inoperable, especially in the master bath where neither the heat nor the exhaust vents worked. The hard slate staircase was a concern for our party which included a two and four year old. There were no lamps, only ceiling lights which left no comfortable place to relax and read. The kitchen disposal was jammed. I gathered tools and was able to loosen it and get it working again. I feel I should bill Vacasa $300 for a service call. The kitchen was lacking many common utensils with an over-abundance of black plastic spatulas and not enough silverware. Dust was everywhere, from cobwebs in the living areas and kitchen to the floors and the beautiful, non-working chandelier in the foyer (sad). The bathrooms were clean but the towels/washcloths were stained. The sheets were clean but there were no mattress pads - not very sanitary.
To sum up: This property is more suited for the stereotypical STR all-night rave party than it is for a cozy weekend getaway. By the word “stereotypical” I mean everything I have heard about Vacasa properties. Not for us.
