Byhuse i Volterra

"At arrival we were presented for a totally unsympathetic room/suite placed in a separate building on ground floor with windows toward public space. And the owner informed us that it was not possible to get breakfast because it was a suite and not a room at the B&B. We booked the suite because it was a bigger room and more expensive than a standard room at B&B. And we communicated with the owner in July ( a month before arrival) when we booked our stay and agreed on the price for the breakfast....

"The address is currently incorrect, but the correct address is a few doors away. There is a somewhat narrow time window when staff are present to receive you, between 2:30 pm and 7 pm, unless you make specific arrangements with them. The room and bathroom were fine and there is a common area kitchen. If on foot, the location of the hotel within the walled historic city is fine, not far from the central square but up a hill. Restaurants are also nearby. The bus stop to the nearest train...

"Vilket läge! Mitt i Siena, alldeles bredvid Il Duomo! Promenadavstånd till allt i centrala Siena ! Lite svårt att hitta , men väl värt att leta ! "

"Beautiful hotel quaint town with plenty to see. Very helpful staff, nice delicious breakfast. We had a lovely time. The beds and pillows are very firm which takes getting used to but overall we were very impressed."

"Receptionen var ikke åben da vi kom kl.18.30- selv om der i bekræftelsesmailen stod check ind til kl.19.00. Vi rendte rundt og ledte - og fandt til sidst en tjener der, fandt en kuvert med en nøgle til os. Suiten havde minibar med øl og vand ,men der intet til at åbne øllen med, og ingen vandglas - kun kaffekopper. Flere lamper virkede ikke. I restauranten var der kun menukort på italiensk, og et personale der ikke virkede særligt serviceminded - måske fordi de helst ikke vil tale engelsk?...

"Friendly staff. But the apartment was full of black mold in shower/bathroom. Floors were dusty and full of hair, bed sheets had stains of dried blood. Location was good though "

"We had a great time in Antica Dimora Leone, the House of Treason, which is based on a real story in history. The owner of the house is friendly and helpful during our stay. Every corner of the home has its own history and the room is so comfortable for us. There is a Michelin restaurant nearby called Ancient Pharmacy, they are awesome you must to give it a try. "

"Vi havde et dejligt ophold, med yderst søde, venlige og hjælpsomme værter, som selv ejer stedet. Morgenmaden var rigtigt god. Vores sidste aften fik vi skøn mad på hotellet, som værterne selv lavede. Dejlig beliggenhed, med fantastisk udsigt, og i gåafstand en lille by med udmærkede restauranter og gode indkøbsmuligheder. Vi kommer helt sikkert igen"

"Very unlikely in 2023 to think of proposing a luxury experience in a 19th century villa without air conditioning, with the gardener who at 2pm invites you to clear the patio in front of the pool where you and your company are sipping an ice-cold drink after a 3-hour journey below 35°C because he has to mow the lawn and, last but not least, the absence of bidets is fine in France and Germany but please not in Italy! On the other hand, the assistance and helpfulness of Reception was excellent."

"Chambre en plein cœur du centre historique donc très bien situé pour visiter Sienne. Il nous a été indiqué une rue à 10mn à pied pour se stationner gratuitement. La chambre se situé au 4e étage sans ascenseur. Pour nous pas de problème mais c'est bon à savoir. La chambre est équipée d'un ventilateur au plafond ce qui n'est pas mentionné dans l'annonce donc très bonne nouvelle à notre arrivée avec plus de 35 degrés dehors. Par contre assez bruyant, un bar juste en bas mais on ne peut pas...

"The place is in the middle of a huge green area, ideal for those who want peace and quiet location. We were in group of 19 and there was plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. Marco, the owner, is very attentive to all details and always around to help. House ammenities were a plus for those rainy days when we could not visit sorrounding Tuscan cities."

"We loved our stay. The property is gorgeous, tucked away in the beautiful hills of Tuscany. The view in the morning with the sun coming up was incredibly picturesque. Worth noting that the property is located in the hills and out of the way of any amenities but it does have a Conad (supermarket) about 25-30 mins away. Place is clean and well organised, plenty of towels etc."
