"Great place slightly removed from the noisy city center (~30-minute walk through interesting neighborhoods—we like to walk!—or 14 minutes by easy public transport) with a local neighborhood feel, a pretty river close by, and convenient services (grocery stores, an excellent bakery). Bergen can have a chill in the mornings and evenings, being close to so much water, so we were extremely happy to feel the ambient heat under our feet. "We had high hopes for this VRBO rental based on other reviews and pictures. The place was difficult to find - it is not down a "road/street" as per instructors, but an extermely narrow space between buildings that covered by construction tarps/ladders and extremely dirty (broken glass, garbage, old blankets, etc.), resembling a homeless encampment. We were a little nervous to find someone there each time we left the apartment complex. It wasn't an ideal environment to visit with kids. I would...
