Spacious Wheelchair Accessible 2 Bedroom Cottage with Hot Tub

  • This unique 5* holiday cottage, has been designed and built with the accessibility requirements of wheelchair users and less able guests in mind.

    The Coach House is a completely level bungalow with 2 bedrooms, The Coach House can accommodate up to 4 guests and is dog friendly.

    Set in a rural countryside location and overlooking tranquil summer grazing for our pet horses. It is less than 3 miles from the Stunning wheelchair accessible and dog friendly beach of Perranporth, with easy access onto the A30, we are a perfectly situated base to explore all that Cornwall has to offer.

    A large rustic oak porch welcomes you into The Coach House.

    As you are welcomed through the extra wide entrance door you enter into the large open plan living, kitchen and dining room, which facilitates inclusive and social living.

    It is furnished with high quality furniture and crowned with solid oak beams and a beautiful reclaimed antique chandelier.

    A welcoming cream tea, complete with homemade scones, Jam and Cornish clotted cream will provide refreshment on your arrival.

    Main Features:

    Private Hot Tub
    The Kitchen contains a height adjustable sink and height adjustable ceramic electric hob
    Slimline dishwasher and washer/drier
    Low level storage cupboards and drawers as well as a side opening oven, low height microwave and remote-controlled fan, meaning that cooking is made easy
    King-sized bed and 2 Single beds that can be converted to a Super-King bed, the cottage lends itself well to couples and mature families
    The King-sized room has been designed to allow the easy use of a mobile hoist if required
    The enormous shared En-suite with underfloor heating, is a full wet room, meaning the use of a mobile hoist (available by prior request) is easily accommodated in this room
    Comfort height toilet, high-quality chrome grab handles and teak shower seat complete the functionality of the room, without detracting from the style
    Designer central heating radiators and underfloor heating in the wet room, makes sure that the cottage is kept toasty in the colder months
    Smart TV’s in both bedrooms and the living area
    Wifi
    Electric Rise and Recline Chairs
    Bright white, satin stripe bed linen, and fluffy white towels
    Electric Car Charging point
    A private sandstone patio area lends itself well to alfresco dining and with a fully enclosed lawned garden

    The Coach House has various pieces of accessibility equipment available including a perching stool, self propelled shower chair, tilt in space shower chair, toilet seat riser, and a mobile hoist (all available on request). Another great holiday

This was our 5th stay at Harrods Cornish Cottages. Finding suitable accessible accommodation can be challenging but Harrods provides everything we need to enjoy a break away. We always find somewhere new to explore and the location of these cottages is ideal for getting around easily. Rebecca is a great host and I'm sure we'll be back soon.

Excellent Holiday Home for Disabled

The Coach House was just what we needed for a relaxing holiday. So much thought has gone into this property to provide everything that a disabled person needs. Parking right outside the door was great. Lovely garden with hot tub. Loved it so much that we have already booked for next year.

Great stay

Our second visit to the coach house, it has everything we need with great hosts. The garden is perfect for our dogs completely secure, they love it. the hot tub is a bonus for us and a great way to relax after exploring cornwall.

A beautiful cottage with plenty of room for the two wheelchairs we use. Very good access throughout the property and extremely comfortable beds! would highly recommend. Fabulous holiday cottage

The Coach House is one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. It is a spacious, well-maintained cottage with all the equipment necessary for a wheelchair user. The garden is peaceful and the hot tub an added bonus. The cottage is in a good location and we were able to visit some of our favourite places like Newquay, Falmouth and Truro and on this holiday visited Perranporth and Fowey. We hope to return to Harrods cottages in the future.

Adapted cottage

Beautiful cottage in a good location for Cornwall. Facilities for my disabled son were excellent with loads of space for his wheelchair. Such a change to find accessible accommodation that really is completely accessible. We could practically fit our lounge into the bathroom/wet room. Definitely recommend.

Great place, great location will come again

It’s so hard to find somewhere that is roomy enough to allow our son and his wheelchair to have the space they need. The cottage was perfect, great parking and facilities, loving the height adjustable sink and cooler which made our boy feel included. Fab to have a decent shower and chair in the washroom, very well thought out and great location for going off exploring. Thank you for having us.

A wonderful luxury getaway for wheelchair users of any kind !

A lovely weeks stay in the coach house ! The accomodation was very comfortable and very accessible. I particularly liked that you could decide what mobility equipment you required. As a very mobile wheelchair user it's often hard to find accomodation suitable and offering that 5 star touch but you absolutely nailed it ! Remade good use of the hot tub and loved the ease of the hoist. The location was brilliant to explore all directions of cornwall. Our only feedback would be perhaps some wine glasses and a longer list of aceessible eateries could be provided. We are ate at smugglers den, hooked in truro and the petterville in St agnes. Thanks for an excellent holiday location im sure we will be back !

Excellent stay

All in all a perfect place for our family. Disabled facilities are great, including hot tub access. Quiet location with fields and horses in view. 2 really minor gripes but nothing that spoilt our stay. It’s great that dogs are allowed and I have no problem with that, however we came across quite a few dog hairs on the flooring, for the money, I think this was an oversight by the cleaners. Secondly the shower area could do with some type of shelving even if freestanding just to enable easy access to products whilst showering. Having said that all in all a great stay and would happily book again.

I can only praise and thank Rebecca and her family for everything. We booked five cottages and found them all to be excellent. My disabled daughter stayed in the coach house with a carer and Rebecca purchased a special hospital style bed and a gantry hoist for the hot tub; what an amazing service! My wife and I stayed next door in the Stables, also very well equipped and adapted; both have amazing wet rooms. The rest of the care team stayed in the Forge and Wishing Well and my teenage son stayed in the Hideaway; they were all very happy. All the cottages are built, equipped and adapted to a very high standard. Wishing Well is just down the lane from the main site. The cottages on the main site are all tucked away in a secluded setting surrounded by open countryside within lovely gardens - gorgeous. The location is wonderful with close and easy access to the towns and beaches near the sea - perfect. Fantastic service and response from Rebecca and her family if you need anything both at the time of booking and when you are there. We will be back!

Enjoyable two weeks in very nice accommodation

It’s very difficult to find accommodation that suits our needs but I’m glad to say the Coach House ticked all the boxes. My mobility is very poor but the Coach House was spacious and the wooden flooring was perfect for wheelchair use. The hob and kitchen sink can be lowered to suit a seated person and the wet room is large enough to hold a medium sized party. I made two requests for equipment which were fulfilled without question and I’m sure if I had any others, Rebecca (Harrod) would have been only too pleased to help. The Coach House looks like it’s in the middle of the countryside but it’s actually very close to a main road so there’s no struggling up/down rutted tracks to reach the accommodation. There’s a hot tub in the garden so privacy isn’t an issue and there’s off road parking right outside the front door. There’s the odd niggle (it would be odd if there wasn’t) but all in all it’s a great holiday cottage and we’ve booked again for next year.

Hi Rachel & Team, Excellent cottage for wheelchair users. As a Disability Nurse Specialist myself, I would make a few suggestions to make the Coach House excellent for reduced mobility persons. Harrods Cottages are in a good position near Parrenporth but set in a country location. The Harrods Cottages also offer a beautiful grassed communal garden with a quirky very little Woodland walk for children and dogs to explore. I asked for a perching stool and this arrived to the cottage the same day. Lovely place to stay and the hot tub was a bonus for an abled bodied person to use. Thank you for a lovely short break to my favourite beach in Cornwall.

Beautiful lodge

Beautiful comfortable lodge. Fully equipped with everything you will need for your stay even provided dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. Grounds of the cottage are beautiful and well kept . Great fir exploring Cornwall only disappointment was you are unable to go anywhere on foot. No pathways are anywhere it’s on a busy lane would have liked to have been able to walk to a pub or shop.
