"This place is an oasis in the rain forest! Beautiful grounds and the staff and owner were the best! Water taxis and walking is how you get around. Ton's of wildlife and a great experience! I would call it "rustic elegance". Just one item that may bother others is there is no climate control in the rooms. That did not bother us since they all have ceiling fans, but it may be a consideration of some."

"Fabulous experience staying in the jungle. Accommodation basic but lying in bed listening to howler monkeys / frogs can't be beaten. Staff extremely helpful and the breakfast banana pancakes when we arrived via water taxi were amazing. Lots of places to sit out in the breeze looking at the river boats and bird watch "

"Very basic rooms and with only mosquito net and no glass on top windows so you are awoken very early by sounds from neighbours and staff as well as wildlife animals. Not very attentive staff, we struggled to find someone to help us with information several times. And food is okay but again very basic. The grounds (pool area, beach, bar etc.) are all very nice though. Be aware that to get to Tortuguero village you need to pay for taxi boats which can quickly add up if you want to go on tours,...

"Unfortunately I was unable to enjoy a stay at the Casa Grande. There is no road to the place, i.e. they have to pick you up by boat. I sent an e-mail, left two WhatsApp messages and tried calling 4 times, all to no avail. Even 2 days later I have not heard from them. I ended up in Parismina without any recourse to get to the place, and so I had to find a different accommodation there. Very unfortunate. If you can book this place in the morning for the evening, the resort must respond, otherwise...

"Die unterkunft war nicht erreichbar, wir sind im Dschungel gelandet und sollten zu fuss mit allem gepäck durch den Dschungel gehen. Wir hatten aber keine Machete dabei!!! Die beschreinung des weges zum hotel ist katastrophal. "

"Tortuguero er et skønt sted, god stemning og hyggeligt rodet. Beach Front var fint nogle steder og slidt andre. Første værelse var med defekt AC og hårtørrer + larm fra tagplader. Næste værelse var bedre. Der er lydt. Søde mennesker og fin morgenmad Central beliggenhed Godt til prisen😊"

"Very basic rooms and with only mosquito net and no glass on top windows so you are awoken very early by sounds from neighbours and staff as well as wildlife animals. Not very attentive staff, we struggled to find someone to help us with information several times. And food is okay but again very basic. The grounds (pool area, beach, bar etc.) are all very nice though. Be aware that to get to Tortuguero village you need to pay for taxi boats which can quickly add up if you want to go on tours, visit other restaurants etc. "
