"There was a huge gap underneath the door, the check in area was very tiny and nowhere near as nice as pictured online. I stayed in the room maybe an hour, left and checked in at another hotel. Best way to describe this one is a motel, definitely not a hotel. I could literally hear flip flops outside, babies crying and the door only had a tiny deadbolt lock with doors that opened to the outside. I messaged them later asking for a refund and the only reply I got was asking if I said anything...

"I was required to pay an additional $50 for a non smoking room. The deposit was not indicated online. The non smoking room that I was given had a strong smell of smoke. I asked for another non smoking room and was charged additional money for that room. Since it was late, I went ahead and paid it. That room had a strong mold smell to it although it did seem to improve after the ac ran a few hours. The wifi would not connect. Staff were unable to help. "Surprisingly charming little motel. Checkin staff was super friendly and helpful - offered us free bike and kayak rentals which was unexpected. It sits right on a little creek with pretty quick access to the sound. Apparently it was someone’s birthday and they were throwing a little party on the grounds - there’s a small stage, they had live music, free food. We had plans so we didn’t go but it was nice to be invited. :) It’s clearly been around for a long time but seemed to be pretty...

"We had a wonderful stay at the Outer Banks Motor Lodge! From the moment we arrived, everything was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The location was convenient, and it was a great place to stay while enjoying the Outer Banks. The room was comfortable and well-kept, and the staff were friendly and helpful. You can tell they really care about their guests and want everyone to have a great experience. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the Outer Banks Motor Lodge to anyone...

"Can't expect excellent standards at a motel that must be at least 70 years old. But considering its age, it was very, very well worth the money. The hardwood floors appeared to be new, as was the mattress, the TV, the paint, and the shower. The window AC was noisy, but kept the room artic cold (had to clean the filter screen). I would stay here again."
