"This is a fantastic get away don't expect Wi-Fi or luxury this is as far as getting to be a crofter as you will get, stone floors log fire beautiful scenery, although you do have electric so there are heaters but it is very comfy no TV and of course no shower but their is a bath. I loved it the wife loved it and so did the dog we definitely hope to go back. "

"Very nice cozy cottage with a gorgeous view. We had some beautiful weather for the time of year. Couple of great pubs and a couple of shops. 5 minutes from ferry port. You cannot go wrong exploring the islands from here."

"Withi-Gill was a beautiful cottage in a remarkable landscape -- views of Hoy and Graemsay were beautiful (when the weather cooperated, which was most days), and with a short walk, views of much of the western part of Mainland Orkney, including Stromness. "Fantastic stay at John O Groats. We had booked a double ensuite room which looked lovely. When we arrived the manager was waiting for us to ask if we would mind if they upgraded our room as the heating wasnt wasnt working. Obviously we didnt mind. Imagine our surprise when we were shown to our upgraded room. They had given us a three bedroomed, two bathroom lodge which was amazing. Warm, comfortable clean and pur luxury. We settled down by the logburner to watch the sea through the huge windows....

"This was a pleasant cottage with parking in front. It was nicely decorated and beds were very comfortable.It was five minutes from a co-op food shop which opens seven days a week 7 am to 10 pm. Almost opposite the bus station and a two minute walk to the ferry. Bike hire is available in Stromness. And we had a great day taking the ferry over to hoy, cycling to Rackwick Bay and walking to see the old man of hoy sea stack. The cottage includes a small washing machine which we did use (only...

"Dear Bettyhill Hotel. My wife and I stayed 3 nights at your hotel during our NC500 trip. I am normally on travel 2 -> 3 times a month, and I must say that your hotel is REALLY one of the best hotels I have ever stayed on. Especially your outstanding service from ALL employees at the hotel (no exceptions). The cozy rooms, the lounge, the bar, the restaurant, the extremely new and clean rooms. Everything was PERFECT. And of course the view is also outstanding (no surprice :-) I would recommend your hotel to everybody - and cannot wait to come back again. Brgds Jan Hornstrup & wife When staying at Bettyhill any traveller should relax, enjoy a drink in the lounge - looking at the really unique view from the hotel lounge for hours - and take a hike in the surroundng area, which is simply so beautifull. Powershopping must wait to next city :-) "
