Luxury home on beautiful soft sand Potrero beach. Enjoy the gentle waves and phenomenal view from your private oasis. Soft sand beach is perfect for swimming and playing. Private pool, direct beach access, paddle boards, kayaks, bicycles, on-site property manager, and exclusive concierge services. 7 bedrooms, 7 1/2 bathrooms with large kitchen, dining, living room and expansive verandas perfect for entertaining. Located within walking distance of many bars and restaurants. Situated directly along the 2.5-mile beachfront of Playa Potrero overlooking the ocean, Villa Potrero includes a professionally landscaped private garden with an oceanfront patio for sunset cocktail hours. A private gate opens to a sandy beach for casual walks, a dip in the ocean, paddle boarding, fishing or just watching the sailboats pass by. The bay has gentle waves that are calm and inviting with warm swimmable water. Your view includes the Catalina Islands 6 miles offshore, one of the most sought out scuba diving and snorkeling locations in Costa Rica. Dive boats can get there in 10 minutes. Let our on-site concierge take care of all the details for you for a relaxing and worry free stay. The concierge will coordinate optional amenities such as excursions, private transport to/from the airport, daily "house-mom" breakfast preparation, private chef services, on-site massage services, and local transportation (to excursions or nearby Tamarindo for example.) The Villa Potrero estate consists of a large main house comprising 7 bedrooms and 7 1/2 bathrooms, 1 full kitchen and 2 kitchenettes. The home may be rented in whole to accommodate up 18 guests or the home can be rented as a 3 bedroom and a 4 bedroom separately - please inquire if one or another of these configurations is of interest to you. This listing is for the entire 7 bedroom home. The 4 bedroom guest suite and 3 bedroom guest suite can be reserved separately, inquire if either of these options is of interest to you. Additional fees apply for private events.

Villa Potrero is in a beach community within walking distance of several great restaurants such as Hemmingway’s, Nita Coffee, Cerveceria Independiente (Brewery), La Forketta, MerKdo (Grocery) and the sailing center. A few minutes’ drive takes you to El Tiki, Coco Loco, Surf Box (Coffee), Sentido Norte, and the Fruit Stand. So many great options nearby! The Flamingo marina is on the south end of the bay offering sunset cruises and world-class fishing.

A beautiful home in a lovely location! Arturo and Martin were waiting outside for us when we pulled in and made us feel very welcome. The accommodations are beautiful, clean and well maintained. Our concierge was wonderful and gave a variety of recommendations. We had everything we needed for a memorable family vacation. We would highly recommend this property.

We had a wonderful stay. There were 14 of us total celebrating a 60th birthday and friendship. Arturo was awesome, so friendly and kind, he went out of his way to make our stay special, we even had the opportunity to meet Kata his daughter and she is lovely. Our house-moms Jurianna and Mary prepared breakfast every morning, it was such a delight. The house had everything we needed, the view was "take your breath away" each time. Town was only a 10 minute easy walk. We had Kattya Campos a chef prepare dinner for us twice and it was delicious. Used Boomerang Tours for a 4 hour beautiful Catamaran tour. We went to Vandara Hot Spring for the day. I can't say enough about Villa Potrero. We all hope we can visit again one day. Thank you for sharing your home!

This is a beautiful property in a wonderful location! The sunsets were beautiful and we loved how close the beach was. We tried many of the restaurants in Potrero and visited the gelato shop daily. Thank you for sharing your home, our family made many wonderful memories!

This house was amazing!! It was like we had an entire hotel to ourselves. The villa accommodated me, my spouse, and 8 of our friends. It has everything that you need and you can’t beat the view. We loved the sunsets every day. Arturo was so helpful! He literally helped us with everything. You can walk to Geckos and many other places! We also enjoyed hemingways. He scheduled massages for us, best thing ever. We also went ziplining, rode atvs, and went on the lazy lizard. We rented a golf cart on the last day. Also, BOOK the chef! Even if it’s for one dinner. She did our anniversary dinner and it was delicious.

Absolute fantastic. Room for everyone and more. Actually had 3 women cooking same time in large kitchen...More than enough dishes . Wonderful pool grandkids really enjoyed and everyone enjoyed boogie boarding in ocean( first time for grandkids). Arturo could not have been any more responsive to our ? and so helpful with all our needs. Would definitely come back..

The property was gorgeous! The rooms had comfortable beds and their own bathrooms which was great for our group of friends traveling together. Arturo was the house manager and was incredibly helpful well before our trip and throughout. He helped make recommendations and arrangements. The house had a fully stocked kitchen and two large refrigerators upstairs plus smaller kitchenettes downstairs (I believe two). The pool was perfect sized with plenty of outdoor seating and activities. The house is so nice that it was easy to want to stay there but there is a lot to explore in town, so I recommend getting out and about!

This is our second time staying at this property, and our most recent visit was even better than the last! Our large group stayed for a week and we had the best time. The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed. The groundskeeper, Martín, was so attentive, and the property manager, Arturo, resolved any questions and provided us with wonderful suggestions and recommendations. Fabulous Family Vacation

Our family LOVED staying at Villa Potrero. The house layout was perfect for our large family of 18. The house is updated and clean. The veranda was an ideal place to watch the sun rise and set or to just have morning coffee and listen to the ocean. Good location for walking to restaurants and the property is on a nice sandy beach. The pool and pool toys available to the kids was a hit. The large back yard was a perfect place for the kids to play. Arturo, the house manager, was extremely helpful in all ways! He gave us useful information, arranged transportation for excursions and answered any questions we had. He is a gem!!! Our family gave this vacation a 10 out of 10! Thank you for a memorable experience.

Overall our stay here was great. 14 of us went there to celebrate turning 70. The upstairs area of the house (with 4 bedrooms and all of the living spaces) was really wonderful. We loved using the large kitchen for meals and sitting outside on the beautiful porch area in the evenings for sunsets. The downstairs area (3 bedrooms, 2 baths) was not as nice. The rooms were a bit darker and not as upgraded as those upstairs. Several of the bulbs were out in the room and it was difficult to see what was in the closet! This was reported to Arturo, the house manager but was never remedied during our stay. Arturo was usually very helpful and responsive with most of our needs.The meals we had prepared for us were excellent and enjoyed by all, especially for our birthday celebration dinner! Concerns:The main issue for us was that there was construction going on next door. It was on the other side of the wall of the upstairs bedrooms. Very loud construction started around 7 AM most days and did not make for a relaxing atmosphere. Construction dust would fly around. The property doesn't really have much control over that but if we had known about it, we would have made a different choice. It did impact our enjoyment of this house.ATV--one of them was not safe to drive; this was reported and taken off of our bill. They took it for repair.Overall a beautiful place with a few issues to consider.

Perfect House for Large Family Trip

We traveled with our 20-something kids and their partners - 13 total in our group. The house and grounds were perfect - plenty of bedrooms/bathrooms, spacious and varied common areas (where people could be together or find some quiet areas), a well-stocked kitchen (and big bbq), outside game tables, a pool with pool toys, and of course right on the beach with kayaks, SUPs, boogie boards, etc. We had a blast. Arturo, the concierge, helped with rental cars, airport transportation, all activities, and recommendations pre-trip and during the trip. Housekeeping was available throughout. The neighborhood is great. Are there glitzier houses for rent? Maybe. But this one was perfect - a 10/10 experience for us.

Perfect beachfront location

We knew nothing about this area before booking but fell in love at first site. The home was immaculate and well cared for. The onsite property managers were wonderful, responsive immediately and so helpful. The combination of pool and beach was perfect. We walked the beach to dinners and rented golf carts to explore further. Couldn’t have been better.

I can hardly put into words how incredible this home is. It truly exceeded all our expectations. The owner and the staff Arturo, Martin, Venite were helpful and genuinely excellent, going above and beyond to accommodate our every need. With a group of 10, we had some unique requirements, and the staff attentiveness and the care provided by the housemom Mary, Julie and chef Kattya made us feel completely at ease. We felt like we were truly at home. It was heartwarming to see how dedicated the staff was—they became like family to us. Slice of paradise

This home and location is a true gem on the beaches of Potrero - the upstairs with 4 lovely rooms each with a private bath was perfect for the adults in our group. The lower level was just the right set up for the 6 younger people in our group (ages 17-22). The pool was awesome for when we needed some shade or time away from the ocean. We walked the beach every day loved getting to the restaurants in town that way. Arturo and the rest of the team at the house were so great and available to help us in anything we needed. Highly recommend this home and hope we are able to return!

Beach Vacation

We rented this beautiful home with a group of friends. Convenient location to small market and restaurants. The kitchen was very well equipped, we made several meals and found everything we needed to cook. The house and outdoor space was large so we had plenty of area to spread out to enjoy our time. Costa Rica Bucket List Friends Trip

Oh where do I even Begin..... Arturo, Martin, Poco (dog)!!!! We loved them all! They were there on a dime anytime you needed anything, including Poco (who meet us for breakfast down the street :-)) Arturo booked our catamaran and was very helpful when the catamaran people messed up our reservation...I reached out to Arturo he answered immediately and they jumped into action once they heard Arturo :-) I am in awe over the property, the kind people who came to clean up for us, the owner.....We will be back and I would stay no other place!!!!! Great house on the beach

This is a great house right on the beach with great boogie boarding right out front. There were 10 of us ranging in ages from 10-80 years old. There was plenty of room. The house is well laid out and stocked with everything we needed. Communication was easy. The owner and property manager were very responsive. In all a 5-star experience.

Wonderful Xmas Holiday

Our family of 14 found the villa to be perfect. Plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, and places to gather. There were two dining tables, one indoors and another outdoors, that accommodated all of us. Arturo and all the help saw that all our needs and wants were taken care of. The teens enjoyed the short walk into town. Fabulous holiday!

Trip of a Lifetime

Our stay at the Villa was incredible. There were 10 of us celebrating our father’s 70th birthday and was the perfect place. Very safe and clean. It felt like our very own private resort. • Location is a beautiful beach view and in the town of Portrero. Expect daily walks on a beautiful beach and the sound of the ocean crashing every day is meditative. • Villa is very clean and has housekeeping come in daily (Yuri) who is absolutely wonderful. The beds are comfortable and all linens are clean. • The great room of the house is perfect for big families – we fully utilized the kitchen and every room upstairs has a view of the sunsets and ocean. The dishwasher is a bit wonky and could be fixed or replaced. Also the great room’s air conditioning/ fan system is quite weak. Each bedroom has it’s own air conditioner and fan which is amazing, but the great room/ main living room/ kitchen area of the villa should get checked out because the fan and air conditioners are not very effective. • The rooms downstairs open up to the main level and steps away from the ocean, so you don’t feel like you are lower level or basement. The bathrooms are much smaller downstairs and definitely dated and could use a refresh. • The pool could use an update but we used it daily and is aesthetically beautiful. • Arturo and Martine were very helpful and responded quickly to our every need. • There is construction going on right beside us so that was loud at times

Family Birthday Celebration

We had a group from 8 months to 7o’s. We did have a lot of rain but was still a wonderful time! Arturo, Martine and Mari were great to work with! The house was kept super clean and any issues were immediately addressed! Arturo arranged a big dinner reservation, an excursion to Diamante, and was super helpful with road conditions and routes to get around. We would love to come back again!! Also great recommendation for Food!

Our Family Retreat

There are not enough superlatives to describe this home. The pictures are accurate, so you can see what it looks like, it's on the beach, it has a great pool. But what you can't see is Arturo, who is helpful beyond words, Martin and Benito who take care of the kayaks, paddle boards, golf carts and grounds and most especially, Mary who was our house mother. She cooked our breakfast and cleaned up after us, but most importantly, she knew us. She noticed on the first day, which child liked pancakes and which preferred rice and beans. She put my tea water on before I even got up, and once she alerted me to the fact that the baby was crying (the monitor didn't indicate that.) The house is fun, there are sometimes cows on the beach, we walked to Hemingways and to town, and to church. We drove the golf carts all over the place. We made it our home and we were sad to leave. Thanks so much.
