We had a couple of nights at the JW Marriot Khao Lak. Great place, big and beautiful rooms, and wonderful setting. The rooms are big and clean, though a little tired and slightly old smelling (no fungus or anything like that). The A/C was quite noisy. The service was all right, check-in quite slow for some reason, and the shuttle I booked with the concierge never came. Room service was cold. Doesn't affect the overall impression which was great, and the restaurants was better than anything you could find around khao lak. Sakura especially. The prices were high but reasonable. Western food mediocre at best, but that is to be expected, and I don't eat it in Asia. All common areas were well taken care of, and the pool was huge and clean!
